- Completion of a Sonography program.
- Two years of experience.
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
- One of the following credentials: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with an Abdomen specialty; Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with an Obstetrics and Gynecology specialty; Registered Vascular Specialist; or Registered Vascular Technologist.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements, including constant standing and walking, frequent patient lifting and movement, frequent reaching, gripping, keyboard use and data entry, and occasional lifting of objects weighing 25–50 pounds.
- Ensure quality imaging, patient care and workflow, and monitor patient documentation for timely completion and accuracy.
- Oversee quality control testing, equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Serve as a resource to department staff and other team members as needed.
- Perform staff orientation, training and coaching, and provide input to staff performance evaluations.
- Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
- Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
- Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to the Picture Archiving and Communication System, including correct image labeling and patient data and history.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas and dressing rooms.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Perform other assigned duties.
