Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Solar Technician Level II candidates must have 2 years of related work experience.
  • Solar Technician Level I candidates must be able to complete Level I job performance measures and Deriva Energy Renewables Academy training within 1 year.
  • Solar Technician Level II candidates must have completed Level I job performance measures and Deriva Energy Renewables Academy training.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • The candidate must complete initial training in Deriva Renewable Academy.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical or electrical faults on solar equipment.
  • Perform pad-mounted transformer switching in accordance with all lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Perform corrective tasks on solar equipment.
  • Work scheduled weekday shifts and remain on call as required by the manager.
  • Maintain a high level of safety awareness.
  • Work outdoors for extended periods.
  • Operate groundskeeping equipment, including weed eaters and lawn mowers.
  • Maintain environmental, health, and safety documentation.
  • Complete work orders, timesheets, tool and personal protective equipment inventories, and other necessary paperwork.
  • Travel to and assist other Deriva Energy sustainable-solution solar facilities when needed.
  • Perform fieldwork at a solar facility and office work when necessary.
  • Work schedules that may include shift changes, overtime, callouts, holidays, and weekends.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate or technical degree in Electrical Construction and Maintenance.
  • Completion of a solar training program.
  • At least 1 year of related work experience.
  • Additional wind turbine or solar experience.
  • Experience with multiple solar supplier technologies.
  • High-voltage and substation maintenance experience.
  • Familiarity with mechanical and electronic testing equipment.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment for facility maintenance.

Deriva Energy Completes Financing For Two Established Projects

CHARLOTTE, N.C., May 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Deriva Energy, LLC, a leader in clean power generation, operations and development, today announced that it has completed a $127 million debt financing for a portfolio of two operating energy assets.Principal Asset ManagementSM and MetLife Investment Management provided Senior Secured Notes to the portfolio, which is comprised of two projects owned and operated by Deriva, Ledyard Wind and Pisgah Ridge Solar. Ledyard Wind is a 207 MW wind facility in Kossuth County, Iowa, and Pisgah Ridge is a 250 MW solar facility located in Navarro County, Texas. Both projects began commercial operations in 2022 and sell power under long-term power purchase agreements with two high quality corporate purchasers.Thomas Hopkins, Director of Capital Markets at Deriva, said: "This transaction marks a significant accomplishment for the company and was completed during a period of heightened market turbulence driven by uncertainty over tariffs and international trade policy.
