Optiver is looking for a versatile Tax Manager to join our newly established Finance team in the London office. The right individual is a self-starter and able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment. The candidate will be expected to execute and manage a broad range of key tax processes across a range of tax disciplines.

What you’ll do:
- Work with our third party tax advisors to review corporate tax returns and monitor Optiver’s UK corporate tax position
- Maintain an awareness of consultations/changes in tax law, and liaise with external advisors, as required to understand any impact for Optiver
- Own the tax accounting processes for the UK, including preparing monthly tax provisions and booking any relevant journals
- Maintain tax information in the general ledger, and perform tax account reconciliations
- Manage UK employment tax obligations, including those relating to employee mobility and employee benefits
- Manage Optiver’s UK VAT obligations and position, including preparing VAT returns, managing VAT accounting, and providing advice to the business
- Work with the Optiver Group tax department to develop, understand, review and implement transfer pricing policies and approaches
- Identify uncertain tax positions, highlight these to management where needed, and prepare relevant documentation as required
- Prepare tax notes for financial statements and liaise with Optiver’s auditors regarding tax matters
- Support the local and international finance and tax teams with ad-hoc projects as they arise
Who you are:
- Qualified financial accountant (ACA/ACCA preferred)
- A willingness to be involved in, and take ownership of, a broad range of tax responsibilities
- Highly motivated, detailed oriented, and able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
- A desire to embrace new challenges and drive continuous improvement within our finance team processes as both Optiver and the role evolves
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Strong proficiency in Excel
