Our team is a small group of pioneering software technical writers in a highly-regulated and fast-paced environment. We are looking for a writer to help us support our compliance efforts and to provide useful documentation for our software engineers, product and project managers, and clinical professionals. In this role, you will write software development plans, architecture guides, and procedures using documentation tools to review, route, and publish content.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Create software documentation including development plans, architecture guides, user guides, Application Program Interfaces (APIs), and various procedures for software development under FDA and ISO regulations.
Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), support teams, and quality personnel to ensure accuracy and quality of documents. Help create and maintain software documentation best practices, standards, and templates. Participate and assist writers in collaborative content review sessions. Help manage an internal glossary, style guide, and wiki. Track your work using Jira, an issue-management tool. Use an electronic document management system to route, review, and store documentation. Develop a working knowledge of laboratory procedures, diagnostic assays, genomic sequencing, clinical trials, laboratory automation, and bioinformatics data analysis.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years experience documenting software development, preferably in a regulated industry, such as healthcare or life sciences.
- Technical writing skills with experience creating documents, such as plans, design specifications, compliance and user guides.
- Demonstrated grammar and editing skills for technical content.
- Excellent attention to detail, balanced with the ability to calibrate the level of detail to the target audience.
- Familiar with quality assurance concepts for regulated industries.
- Experience managing documentation projects independently and as part of a team
Desired Skills
- Experience working with the Microsoft 365 suite (especially Word and Excel)
- Experience working with the Google suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.)
- Experience using the Veeva document management system
