Requirements
  • Vocational training, an apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge and skills developed through less than two years of work experience in a related job discipline.
Responsibilities
  • Independently execute moderately complex laboratory and research activities, including maintenance of human cancer cell lines, cell viability and death assays, in vitro and in vivo drug testing, and molecular biology methods such as quantitative polymerase chain reaction, protein analysis, and light-field and fluorescent microscopy.
  • Design and execute small animal experiments with increasing independence, including subcutaneous injections, intraperitoneal drug administration, and preparation of tissue samples for histopathologic analysis.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data, identify trends, troubleshoot challenges, and conduct literature reviews to inform experimental design and advance the research project.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners while independently coordinating aspects of the research.
  • Comply with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives, and mandates.
  • Provide technical and administrative support in a laboratory environment by performing basic laboratory techniques, research, and analysis under direction.
  • Perform other related work as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree relevant to the research being conducted.
  • Experience with core molecular and cellular biology techniques and cancer cell culture.
  • Hands-on small animal research experience.
  • Data analysis and literature review skills.
