Requirements
  • Deep knowledge of the current music landscape, with an emphasis on new and rising artists
  • Strong familiarity with the Pigeons & Planes brand
  • A deep understanding and fluency in all social media platforms. (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Snapchat)
  • Ideally 1-3 years of social media experience with a publisher, music entity, or brand
  • Interest in exploring new community-building opportunities and platforms
  • Passion for music discovery and storytelling
  • Proficient writing and online research skills, attention to detail, and fact-checking skills
  • Familiarity with Photoshop and basic graphic design
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills-ability to perform in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment, and think quickly and strategically to meet tight deadlines
  • Understanding of analytics and social media trends across platforms
  • Extensive knowledge of internet culture and ability to drive audience and consumer action on social
Responsibilities
  • Grow the Pigeons & Planes audience and impact across social media platforms
  • Create social assets using templates provided by the design team
  • Research music anniversaries, pegs, trivia, and news
  • Prioritize the ideation and execution of original social content, plus promotion of Pigeons & Planes content and initiatives including editorial/video/audio, sponsored/branded, live events, and merch
  • Work closely with Pigeons & Planes team on the development of new social ideas to grow brand awareness and audience engagement
  • Work closely with Complex social team to align on priorities and create synergy across brands
  • Work closely with external partners on social plans when necessary around initiatives like the Pigeons & Planes compilation album
  • Maintain and update the monthly social calendar, schedule original social franchises, establish the cadence of engagement-driving content and key promotion campaigns
  • Work with design/marketing teams to request social assets around features, merch drops, live events, and videos
  • Execute audience-building initiatives on new platforms (e.g. Discord, TikTok, newsletter)
  • Strategize around monetization opportunities on socials
  • Build a strategy to reach a new audience of passionate music fans
  • Track progress as it relates to audience growth and engagement, communicate with the rest of the team and adjust strategy accordingly
  • Create and maintain tools/resources to better track news, interactions with talent, and overall community building for the P&P brand
