Time Studies Intern

The JM Family College Internship Program is designed to create an opportunity for college students to have meaningful work experiences that tie to their programs of study. Students in the program will actively contribute to their team’s success, learn about JM Family’s company and culture, and obtain new skills through learning opportunities and networking events. The individual selected for this internship will be responsible for supporting their department in a variety of functions and will have exposure to activities related to the department’s initiatives. The intern will also gain access to professional development opportunities through the internship program. Some of these opportunities include business presentation skills classes, lunch and learns, and career readiness workshops.  

Candidates hired in this role will be paid a competitive hourly wage.

Requirements:

The student intern’s primary focus will be assisting the team by completing time and motion studies to develop labor standards for production activities. 

• While performing time and motion studies, the student will be required to:  

  • Read and comprehend process documents. 

  • Adhere to safety and quality policies and procedures while supporting site compliance objectives. 

Our Vehicle Processing Center’s core hours are Monday through Friday, from 6:00 am - 2:15 pm.  Our ideal candidate will be local to our facility in Jacksonville, FL, and commit to working part-time during these hours.   

Flexible hours can be structured to accommodate the candidate’s class schedule. The length of the internship will be based on the volume of work, the intern’s successful performance, and the continuous needs of our operation, not to exceed 12 months.

Qualifications:

• Candidate must be currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program; freshman, sophomore, and junior students preferred.

  • STEM students or students focused on Industrial or Manufacturing preferred but not required.

• Experience and/or completed coursework related to time & motion studies.

• Microsoft Excel experience with data entry and basic macro development desired

• Microsoft PowerPoint experience developing and delivering presentations

• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

• Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively.

• Ability to work under time constraints and manage complexity effectively

• Excellent interpersonal skills, including highly effective verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to travel between business locations in Jacksonville, FL (requiring a personal vehicle) as needed.

• Flexibility to work non-standard schedules onsite and based on business location needs due to varying schedules.
