We’re seeking an Engineering Manager to help lead our growing backend engineering team. Our real-time advertising bidding system handles over 3,000,000 requests per second and stores several terabytes of data every day. Our technologies include Go, Ruby on Rails, Aerospike, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, RocksDB, Redshift, ScyllaDB, GraphQL and others. We’re not afraid to test and try new technologies.
StackAdapt is a Remote First company, we are open to candidates located anywhere in North America for this position.
What you’ll be doing:
- Architect and review scalable low-latency backend systems and data pipelines
- Lead and mentor a growing team of talented engineers within the backend team
- Make a positive impact on the team’s productivity and growth
- Promote software development best-practices and conduct rigorous code reviews
- Rigorously identify and solve technical challenges
- Manage software development processes and own the technical roadmap
- Conduct interviews to attract and identify potential high performing candidates
- Balance and prioritize projects to maximize efficiency and ensure company objectives are achieved
We’ll be reaching out to applicants that have:
- 2+ years managing five or more direct reports
- 5+ years experience of software development in distributed systems, architecting scalable microservices and data pipelines. Experience in these areas for a successful high-growth technology company is a plus
- Experience with GO(GoLang) Programming Language is needed in this role
- Proven track record of delivering results and leading growing, high-impact teams
- Experience as a player coach, leading technology as well as people management. Ideally experience managing 3 to 10 direct reports while being a hands on leader
