Requirements
  • A minimum of five (5) years Wideband Military SATCOM (WGS) planner, manager, and/or controller experience
  • An associate's degree or higher in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent (Note: 2 years of related experience may be substituted for 1 year of education)
  • Five years' experience working as a military SATCOM controller
  • Must currently hold a Top Secret security clearance with SCI access
  • Ability to plan, implement, verify and troubleshoot local and wide-area enterprise networks
  • Experience in the use of information technology tools
  • Strong enterprise network troubleshooting (Cisco IOS(s), IP routing, EIGRP)
  • Strong skill set with Microsoft Office software applications
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, team-oriented environment and support critical operations during standard and non-standard working hours
Responsibilities
  • Provide Wideband support related to the duties of the Consolidated-Satellite Systems Expert.
  • Monitor and maintain situational awareness of all activities related to the Wideband Satellite Operations Centers and Remote Satellite Stations; review proposed satellite command plans and provide troubleshooting assistance to the Wideband Satellite Operations Centers, Remote Satellite Stations, and SATCOM terminals.
  • Familiarize yourself with and follow all Transmission Controller Operating Instructions contained in the Wideband Controllers Guide.
  • Review the Control Change Queue in CNPS; document changes to CNPS plans; verify the performance of transmission links for all assigned satellites using the WRMS.
  • Analyze appropriate 8-Hour Reports to verify transmission and terminal performance and status; engage with Wideband Satellite Operations Centers to perform adjustments necessary to achieve established operating parameters.
  • Assist any WSOC in identifying, troubleshooting, and eliminating anomalous transmission and payload conditions.
  • Provide assistance with development and review of policy and procedural documents.
  • Report operational and maintenance issues to the Combined Space Operations Center, as required; perform all required reporting to the appropriate agencies.
  • Complete and submit Discrepancy or Other Reports (DORs) in accordance with the applicable guidance.
  • Coordinate enterprise terminal ASIs and emergency outages with appropriate agencies.
  • Review relevant DIMS Reports daily.
  • Review alarms for the past 24 hours in WRMS daily.
  • Complete and submit After Action Reports (AARs) in accordance with the applicable guidance.
  • Maintain situational awareness of the Wideband SATCOM Operations Management System Network using SolarWinds.
  • Assist with primary troubleshooting and anomaly resolution for all mission systems within the Wideband Satellite Operations Center's shift work, providing 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year coverage; propagate a culture of safety in all aspects of the job.
  • Other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
  • Security+ or equivalent vendor certification is preferred
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level 2 certification (e.g. Security+ CE, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA Security, CND)
  • Experience implementing patches, scanning, remediating findings, auditing working knowledge of Risk Management Framework and cybersecurity requirements
  • Previous experience supporting DoD/government customers
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
