Belvedere Trading is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to aid in the research and development of our fully automated market-making system. The Senior Java Engineer is responsible for working directly with leaders, software engineers, and quantitative researchers within our research department to implement high-throughput event-driven systems in a cloud-native environment. You will be working to design and implement modeling system details, optimize systems to sustain hundreds of terabytes of throughput and assist in integration of cloud-scale technologies into a latency-sensitive trading platform. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, eager to contribute to a rapidly growing team, has sound technical knowledge, and possesses exceptional communication skills.

What You’ll Do

Build a suite of software using Java, Flink, and Pulsar to identify pricing inefficiencies in live trading markets
Assist with development of in-house hybrid cloud application frameworks
Understand the full lifecycle and intricacies of a trading platform
Interact with hybrid cloud messaging, data, observability, and deployment platforms
Share ideas, experience, and knowledge with other members of the team
Provide feedback to leadership on team health and processes to continuously improve productivity, tooling, and code quality
Coordinate directly with stakeholders and firm leaders to plan work and design solutions

What You’ll Need

5+ years developing applications using Java
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with individuals at all levels of the organization
The ability to architect and implement efficient technical solutions
An understanding of the trade-offs between high-throughput and low-latency systems
A keen sense of ownership and drive to succeed
The ability to collaborate and contribute in a team setting
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment
Careful attention to detail, and the vision and skill to push beyond expectations

Hybrid Work Structure

This position will be based in Boulder, Colorado with the option to work in a hybrid structure with a minimum of two days in the office.
