Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering, a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work or military experience is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience administering and engineering Linux systems in enterprise environments, including enterprise virtualization platforms such as Nutanix, is required.
  • Candidates must have an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and eligibility to obtain a CI polygraph.
  • Candidates must understand Linux system administration fundamentals, including networking, storage, security, and operating system internals.
  • Candidates must have strong expertise in configuration management and automation using Ansible.
  • Candidates must be proficient in Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages for automation and tooling.
  • Candidates must have experience managing Red Hat-based environments, including RHEL, Satellite, Capsule, or similar tools.
  • Candidates must have hands-on experience administering Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure environments, including AHV, Prism Central, Prism Element, virtual machine lifecycle management, storage, networking, and cluster operations.
  • Candidates must have experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting Linux virtual machines in Nutanix environments.
  • Candidates must understand virtualization, hypervisor technologies, storage, and networking concepts.
  • Candidates must have experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure, virtualization, and performance issues.
  • Candidates must have experience implementing Linux security best practices.
  • Candidates must have experience with monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Candidates must demonstrate problem-solving ability and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise Linux-based infrastructure in on-premises and virtualized environments.
  • Administer, maintain, and optimize Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure, including AHV, Prism Central, and Prism Element, to support enterprise Linux workloads.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to provision, configure, and manage virtual machines, storage, networking, and cluster resources within Nutanix environments.
  • Develop and maintain automation solutions using Ansible and scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
  • Standardize system configuration, patching, and deployment processes through Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
  • Administer and support Red Hat ecosystem tools, including Satellite and Capsule.
  • Integrate and manage authentication and authorization mechanisms, including OAuth, single sign-on, and identity providers.
  • Support the development of dashboards and observability solutions using tools such as Grafana and Zabbix.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Linux systems and Nutanix infrastructure for performance, availability, and capacity.
  • Troubleshoot complex system, virtualization, storage, networking, and integration issues across distributed environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
  • Document system architecture, processes, automation, and infrastructure standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including automation maturity, platform modernization, and operational best practices.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Nutanix advanced capabilities such as Files, Objects, Flow, Calm, or Disaster Recovery.
  • Experience with Nutanix automation using application programming interfaces, PowerShell, or Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
  • Experience with load-balancing devices such as HAProxy or F5.
  • Familiarity with authentication and authorization concepts such as OAuth, LDAP, and single sign-on.
  • Experience with observability and dashboarding tools such as Grafana and Zabbix.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines and their integration with infrastructure automation.
  • Experience with VMware-to-Nutanix migration or hybrid virtualization environments.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Intelligence Community experience.
