Requirements
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Sustainability, or a related field
  • Graduation date between December 2025 and June 2026
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • Availability to work 10 weeks during the summer.
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. (Currently, we are not offering this position with a student visa including F1, OPT, CPT or H1B and are not accepting or sponsoring student work visas for this role)
  • Passion for sustainability and environmental stewardship
  • Exposure to or participation in the development of academic literature on sustainability or climate change a plus
  • Experience with or exposure to sustainability reporting standards such as GRI, TCFD, and CDP a plus
  • Specific interest in the intersection of climate change and health a plus
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication.
  • Strong technical, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Practical, developed PC skills, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Responsibilities
  • Define and execute a specific project that supports their professional interests and is aligned with the Sustainability Department’s strategic priorities
  • Support the development and delivery of annual CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project) response
  • Support greenhouse gas emissions accounting (Scope 1, 2 and 3) to meet compliance reporting obligations and assurance requirements
  • Assist with project research related to climate resiliency, including scenario analysis of physical (building) and other (community, etc.) risks to specific geographic areas of interest
  • Prepare bi-weekly short communication on sustainability news and updates to be internally published to HCSC employees
  • Assist with ad hoc employee education and engagement initiatives related to sustainability, as needed
  • Other projects and duties as assigned
