The boss of Voodoo is about to acquire Konbini and Le Gorafi.

The boss of Voodoo is about to acquire Konbini and Le Gorafi. Alexandre Yazdi is on the verge of becoming the head of a media group. He is preparing to take a majority stake in DC Company, which owns Konbini and Le Gorafi. After BeReal, Alexandre Yazdi has other targets in his sights. Indeed, the boss of the French mobile gaming heavyweight Voodoo has entered into exclusive negotiations with a view to taking a majority stake in the capital of the digital media group DC Company, which owns Konbini and Le Gorafi, both parties announced to AFP on Thursday. This operation 'aims to support a new phase of development for the group, notably by strengthening its investment capabilities,' indicated Alexandre Yazdi and DC Company in a joint statement. No financial details were disclosed. This 'is part of the continuity of a relationship that began several years ago,' with Alexandre Yazdi being 'a long-term investor in DC Company,' according to the statement. The amount of his current stake was not revealed. Konbini acquired by DC Company in 2024. Founded by Geoffrey La Rocca, DC Company acquired Konbini, a pioneer in online media popular among 15-35 year-olds, in early 2024. The group also includes other digital media: the satirical site Le Gorafi, and the feminist media Herstory (formerly Les Éclaireuses) and C'est Qui La Boss. The group claims 8 billion views in 2025 in France and internationally. 'By leveraging the product and technological expertise of Alexandre Yazdi developed within Voodoo and BeReal, and the know-how of Geoffrey La Rocca in developing strong and committed media brands, the two entrepreneurs intend to continue developing an innovative, sustainable, and independent media model,' according to the joint statement. Voodoo acquired BeReal for half a billion euros. Alexandre Yazdi is the co-founder and head of Voodoo. Founded in 2013, the company has become a heavyweight in the mobile gaming market (which is worth more than $100 billion worldwide in 2025, according to Newzoo). It generated $778 million in revenue in 2025. Voodoo has also diversified into applications by creating Wizz, a social network for teenagers that has 3 million daily users worldwide, one-third of whom are in the United States. The French company also acquired the BeReal network in 2024 for 500 million euros. This application, very popular with Generation Z, where users share instant photos, has 40 million monthly users, including more than 8 million in Japan (its first market) and 5.5 million in France.
