Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree and at least one year of successful playing or coaching experience at the collegiate or professional level are required, unless equivalent experience substitutes for the education requirement.
  • Successful playing or coaching experience may substitute for educational requirements.
  • Proven ability to relate to student-athletes.
  • Knowledge of National Collegiate Athletic Association rules and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in recruiting and evaluating prospective student-athletes.
  • Assist with administrative duties and public relations.
  • Participate in baseball clinics and fundraising activities.
  • Support and develop student-athlete academic success.
  • Coach athletes, including instruction in assigned specialty-area mechanics and development of competitive skills.
  • Participate in the administration and planning of practices and strength and conditioning programs.
  • Provide a blueprint for a successful approach to the mental aspect of the game.
  • Participate in organizing, developing, and implementing a championship Division I baseball program.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with coaches, staff, and athletes.
  • Work toward excellence across all aspects of the program while representing the University of Washington, Athletics Department, and baseball program with professional and ethical behavior.
