Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Basic knowledge of human behavior, general mental health concepts, and independent living skills is required.
- Computer proficiency and Microsoft Office experience are required.
- The ability to communicate directly and effectively in a cooperative and collaborative manner is required.
- The ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act requirements is required.
- The ability to facilitate planning meetings with individuals from multiple internal and external systems is required.
- The ability to interact positively with staff and clients while maintaining a professional demeanor is required.
- The ability to adapt to changing environments and work priorities is required.
- Experience or knowledge working in an electronic medical record is required.
- The ability to complete required training and safely use all devices and equipment needed for the position is required.
- The ability to wear clothing that allows full range of motion and slip-resistant, closed-toe footwear is required.
- The ability to maintain full mobility of major joints and transition quickly from sitting or lying to standing is required.
- The ability to maintain balance while moving in multiple directions and transitioning between positions is required.
- The ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds independently and assist with lifting or moving 100 pounds or more as part of a team is required.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct client care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, individually or in group settings.
- Interact routinely with clients in a positive and supportive manner.
- Monitor and document client treatment, activities, behavior, and conditions according to procedures.
- Assist clients with personal hygiene and activities of daily living, including bathing, toileting, feeding, and mobility.
- Obtain and record client vital signs, height, and weight as assigned.
- Monitor and document nutritional intake.
- Report repair and maintenance needs to appropriate staff to maintain a safe, sanitary, and orderly environment.
- Conduct assigned activity groups when qualified, with or without assistance, and document the activities.
- Perform client admissions and discharges and complete assessments when requested, including entering information into the computer system.
- Supervise clients in assigned special-care areas and promptly report care or safety issues to supervisors or nursing staff.
- Assist nursing staff in responding to emergencies.
- Collaborate with the supervisor and care team to complete shift duties and training needs.
- Participate in client treatment planning and implementation of unit therapeutic programming under the direction of the nursing and professional care team.
- Maintain required training for job expectations, compliance, and position competency.
- Safeguard Protected Health Information and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and related policies.
- Complete work assignments within requested time expectations and maintain appropriate records and documentation.
- Maintain safety, quality, timeliness, cost-effectiveness, cleanliness, and organization in assigned work areas.
- Comply with relevant laws, regulations, standards, and organizational policies.
- Identify work and maintenance needs and seek additional work without prompting.
- Develop and maintain respectful, courteous, and professional relationships with staff, visitors, guests, and clients.
- Work cooperatively with others to complete requests to service standards and within required timelines.
- Ask for help when needed and proactively assist coworkers while maintaining consistent communication with supervisors and coworkers.
- Model organizational values and appropriately steward organizational resources.
- Engage in education and training to improve skills and knowledge in the field.

Desired Qualifications
- Current or recent studies in behavioral healthcare are a plus.
