Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in nursing.
  • Current nursing licensure in good standing.
  • Direct patient care experience in a critical care setting.
  • More than two years of writing experience related to medical or scientific content.
  • Demonstrated understanding and use of evidence-based practice principles and health information technology to support clinical decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to extract relevant clinical information from research and write concise clinical content, exercising judgment to produce content with minimal errors.
  • Ability to self-manage multiple priorities within deadlines and report on work produced.
  • Knowledge of PubMed and CINAHL search strategies.
  • More than two years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Word with Track Changes and Microsoft Excel.
  • Understanding of business processes and policies to solve problems and self-motivation to look for solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Write new clinical content in several formats for point-of-care tools.
  • Keep the library of current clinical content up to date and relevant.
  • Identify areas of potential product development.
  • Make decisions in consultation with the Section Editor that affect larger groups and more junior team members.
  • Serve as a content specialist within specific content domains, facilitate topic enhancement and development, perform systematic literature surveillance, and regularly review the content collection.
  • Support teamwork and writer development through effective editing and feedback.
  • Maintain content quality and participate in quality initiatives.
  • Co-manage or co-lead editorial tasks and initiatives with the Section Editor or Editor-in-Chief as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in an emergency setting.
  • An advanced degree in a healthcare-related field.
  • Current specialty certification in good standing.
  • Experience assessing evidence and performing critical appraisal.
  • Statistical skills sufficient to analyze the clinical relevance of all study types.
  • Experience with content management systems and project-tracking programs such as Oxygen, monday, and Distiller.
