Stellar Science builds custom software for science and engineering. It develops interactive, research-driven applications in computer vision, image enhancement, 3D visualization, computational electromagnetics, scene simulation, and thermal modeling. The software runs on a range from desktop machines to high‑performance computing clusters, and is designed to let researchers and engineers explore data and run simulations through interactive tools and visualization. Unlike larger firms that offer off‑the‑shelf solutions, Stellar Science creates tailored, project‑specific software by conducting research and development to meet unique needs. The company’s goal is to provide practical, specialized software that helps clients solve complex scientific and engineering problems and push the capabilities of their workflows.

What believers are saying

  • The company’s September 2025 MDA Ash Phase II award added nearly $2 million.
  • Open roles on September 4, 2026 signal continued demand and likely program growth.
  • Defense demand for space domain awareness and directed-energy modeling supports multi-year software spending.

What critics are saying

  • Revenue concentration risk: September 2025 MDA award and scattered DoD work dominate demand.
  • Contract work requires U.S. citizenship and clearances, shrinking the talent pool and delaying hiring.
  • A major prime contractor or agency insourcing effort can erase Stellar Science's niche engineering margins.

What makes Stellar Science unique

  • Stellar Science builds custom scientific software for defense, space, and advanced simulation.
  • Its August 2026 hiring targets C++ engineers across Albuquerque, Dayton, and Tysons Corner.
  • Its products span computer vision, orbital mechanics, directed energy, and modeling for DoD clients.
