  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical, business, or field.
  • Experience with Java/.NET as secondary and/or other modern object-oriented development, web application development, web service development, and distributed systems development.

  • The Web Services Developer role has two major functions: design and oversight.
  • Web-based Distributed Systems Architecture and Design: Design, develop, and implement enterprise level web-based systems, plan for responsive user interfaces and mobility needs, use REST or SOAP standards within Web Services design.
  • Software/Service Architecture: Design and develop Java applications with frameworks like Spring, Struts or Hibernate, plan for highly available and scalable applications.
  • Software Project Lifecycle Management: Implement and utilize agile/scrum, unit testing, lifecycle from analysis through deployment, assist end-user and business analysts in turning needs into incremental software projects, champion for quality software.
  • Communication: Communicate with stakeholders including business users, analysts, software engineers, DBAs, QA, systems and infrastructure staff.
  • Willingness and ability to engage with people and organizations continuously.
Responsibilities
  • Assess, design, develop, support and implement the State’s Member Management replacement project and other projects assigned.
  • Work under the direction of Clemson’s technical project manager and technical lead for support and maintenance of all new technology development work.
  • Focus on overall system and service architecture and overseeing implementation of the designed services.
