Requirements
  • Meet Highly Qualified requirements through a high school diploma or GED and an Associate’s degree or higher, 60 semester hours of college credit, or a passing score on an approved assessment.
  • Have an active Arizona Department of Public Safety-issued IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Demonstrate technology skills, including familiarity with a learning management system such as Canvas.
  • Demonstrate reading, writing, computation, and oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform routine clerical tasks supporting classroom activities.
  • Be able to work cooperatively with others and take initiative in demanding environments.
  • Be able to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, use hands and fingers for data input and handling materials, and occasionally push or lift up to 25 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Complete online Learning Facilitator training administered by ASU Prep Digital.
  • Run data reports and analyze data.
  • Advocate for student success in the online learning environment.
  • Serve as a communication liaison to partnership support staff.
  • Take daily attendance.
  • Supervise children during lunch, on the playground, and in other settings.
  • Monitor students to ensure they work on online courses and stay on pace.
  • Conference with students weekly to review goals and academic progress and help them stay organized and on track.
  • Conduct individual and small-group tutoring sessions guided by the Digital teacher.
  • Host onsite parent/teacher conferences and facilitate the Digital teacher’s participation in virtual conferences.
  • Facilitate student communication with virtual teachers.
  • Understand school partner processes and policies.
  • Instruct students in using virtual lessons, help sessions, exam preparation, teacher support, and discussion-based assessments.
  • Coordinate student access to professors and teaching assistants for assignments, office hours, exams, tutoring services, and assignment deadlines.
  • Assist in developing and preparing instructional materials and training modules.
  • Communicate with the digital instructor when an academic integrity concern arises.
  • Establish and maintain positive learning environments in the lab.
  • Encourage student engagement.
  • Help parents navigate access to student course progress.
  • Answer questions and assist students with software.
  • Notify onsite information technology staff about technical issues, including system malfunctions, security requirements, and video issues.
  • Notify school technology staff about lab assistance needs, including internet interruptions, machine malfunctions, blocked websites, and missing or required downloads.
  • Check equipment daily and report lab issues to the school technology contact.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Travel occasionally for site visits, meetings, trainings, or conferences, potentially including overnight stays.
