Requirements
  • 7–10 years of experience in DevOps, site reliability engineering, or infrastructure engineering roles, including at least 2 years in a lead or senior technical ownership capacity.
  • Deep, hands-on expertise in Amazon Web Services networking, compute, storage, identity and access management, and security services.
  • Strong proficiency in Terraform, including module design, remote state management, workspaces, drift detection, and large-scale infrastructure-as-code governance.
  • Solid experience with GitHub, including Actions, branching strategies, repository governance, and workflow automation.
  • Strong scripting and programming ability in Python and Shell/Bash for automation and tooling.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines end-to-end, including build, test, deployment, and rollback.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker, Amazon Elastic Container Service, or Kubernetes/Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service.
  • Strong understanding of security best practices, identity and access management policies, and secrets management using Secrets Manager, Vault, or similar tools.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tooling such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills across networking, compute, and application layers.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead technical discussions and mentor engineers.
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure on Amazon Web Services, including VPC, EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, Lambda, IAM, CloudFront, and Route 53.
  • Own the infrastructure-as-code strategy using Terraform, including module design, state management, and multi-environment provisioning.
  • Drive cost optimization, security hardening, and architectural best practices across development, staging, and production environments.
  • Lead disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity planning for critical systems.
  • Architect and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines for build, test, and deployment automation across multiple services and teams.
  • Build automation tooling and scripts using Python and Shell to eliminate manual operational work.
  • Implement GitOps practices and policy-as-code for infrastructure changes, including plan/apply gates and automated compliance checks.
  • Own release management processes, deployment strategies such as blue-green, canary, and rolling deployments, and rollback procedures.
  • Manage and enforce GitHub best practices, including branching strategy, code review workflows, repository structure, access controls, and GitHub Actions workflows.
  • Collaborate with development, quality assurance, and security teams to embed DevOps practices into the software development life cycle.
  • Set up and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting using CloudWatch, Prometheus/Grafana, Datadog, or similar tools.
  • Lead incident response and root cause analysis for production issues, and drive postmortems and long-term fixes.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices, including identity and access management least privilege, secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and compliance guardrails.
  • Lead and mentor a team of DevOps and infrastructure engineers, conduct code and infrastructure reviews, and guide technical decision-making.
  • Define and enforce infrastructure standards for tagging, naming conventions, module reuse, and documentation.
  • Partner with engineering leadership on the infrastructure roadmap, tooling decisions, and capacity planning.
  • Own vendor and tool evaluations, including build-versus-buy decisions for infrastructure and DevOps tooling.
Desired Qualifications
  • AWS certifications, including Solutions Architect – Professional or DevOps Engineer – Professional.
  • Terraform Certified Associate certification or equivalent hands-on Terraform Enterprise or Terraform Cloud experience.
  • Experience with policy-as-code tools such as Sentinel, OPA, or Checkov.
  • Experience with Kubernetes/Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service at scale, including IRSA, autoscaling, and cluster upgrades.
  • Experience in a regulated or high-compliance environment such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or HIPAA.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
