Requirements
  • High school education or equivalent experience, with at least 1 year of grocery experience and 6 months in an assistant leadership role such as Customer Service Representative.
  • A solid understanding of customer service operations and the ability to make timely and effective decisions.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with guests and associates while managing a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills, with the capacity to lead, educate, and train others.
  • A thorough understanding of safety policies and the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and address safety hazards.
  • The ability to stand in place for long periods, walk in the store, and bend, stoop, and kneel regularly.
  • The ability to perform occasional product lifting, repetitive tasks for prolonged periods, and short periods of outdoor work assisting guests and monitoring associates and conditions.
  • Regular and timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, with adequate notice for occasional absences.
  • Availability for afternoon, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent guest service by greeting guests, answering questions, addressing concerns, and handling interactions professionally.
  • Reinforce Festival Foods values throughout the store and lead the team during afternoon and evening shifts.
  • Set clear performance expectations and guide associates in delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Assist in developing and supervising Guest Services associates, including facilitating Bagger training.
  • Oversee department productivity and labor by aligning staffing levels with business needs and target goals.
  • Maintain loss prevention and asset protection policies and enforce safety programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Schnuck Markets Acquires Festival Foods

Schnuck Markets, Inc. has acquired 100% of the shares of Festival Foods and Hometown Grocers, Inc. through the 1939 Group, Inc., owned by the Schnuck family. The acquisition includes shares from CEO Mark Skogen and the Employee Stock Ownership Plan. The 1939 Group will maintain the existing store banners and corporate headquarters, with Todd Schnuck as Chairman and CEO. The transaction is expected to close in October, subject to customary approvals.
