Requirements
- Resourceful, hard-working, and solutions-oriented mindset -- you work to solve problems before asking for help
- 2+ years of experience in communications or public relations in crypto with some established connections at major publications
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin (preferred)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, exacting editorial standards, and impeccable people skills
- Avid bitcoin and cryptocurrency enthusiasts is a must! It's okay if you haven't worked in a crypto PR agency before, but being especially knowledgeable about the field is essential
- A knack for working with multiple stakeholders simultaneously and coaching people of all backgrounds and skill levels to deliver the best content possible
- Willingness to work hard and roll up your sleeves to get work done and even when at times it is outside the scope of the job
- A propensity for working from first principles, converting challenges into opportunities, and seeing what's on the horizon
- You understand that no change occurs in a vacuum
- With a strategic mindset and the ability to sweat the details, you should be comfortable working in both unbound creative and more structured spaces
- This role requires occasional travel to crypto conferences and other events
Responsibilities
- Work on proactive PR strategy, often in conjunction with the PR Manager and Management Team
- Analyze and report on media coverage regularly
- Cultivate relationships with influential print, digital, and broadcast journalists or thought leaders within the blockchain and financial spaces
- Write media releases and other press materials
- Brief spokespeople within our organization on communicating with the media
- Be the point of contact for some media inquiries
- Directly handle the PR response to 'crisis' situations
- Coordinate and manage relationships with community members, third parties in PR, publications, and events such as hackathons, community meetups, and conferences
- Monitor web3 and web3 trends, innovations, and industry growth
- Ability to write evergreen content, editorial, opinion, and educational pieces on various verticals
- Patience and willingness to draft weekly PR reports and monthly PR updates
