Requirements
  • Experience of working with young people and knowledge of the issues they face.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding concerns in relation to children and young people and the Fraser Competence framework.
  • An excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working within a related field.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practice around young people’s substance misuse treatment services and methods, including relevant best-practice guidance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a high degree of personal information technology competency.
  • Ability to accurately update and maintain records and work to deadlines for submitting information, including reports.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, maintaining a cooperative approach to supporting colleagues in delivering service objectives.
  • Applicants must already have the right to work in the United Kingdom at the time of application.

Responsibilities
  • Support young people from the point of entry into the service and throughout their treatment and recovery journey.
  • Provide screening, assessment, psychosocial interventions, integrated care planning, post-treatment support, and transfer of care.
  • Identify and respond effectively to potential safeguarding issues.
  • Reduce drug- and alcohol-related harm to young people and the wider community.
  • Identify and respond to young people and children impacted by parental or familial substance use, including hidden harm, and provide screening, assessment, psychosocial interventions, integrated care planning, post-treatment support, and transfer of care.
  • Promote carer, service user, and community involvement.
  • Provide advocacy to support access to partnership services.
  • Work with young people to support positive, holistic health and wellbeing outcomes, enabling them to lead safe, healthy, and purposeful lives while reducing risk and increasing resilience.
  • Work flexibly across sites where required.
