Job Summary:
The Regional Sales Director, a key member of the Advisor Sales & Wealth Consulting distribution team and lead relationship manager to financial advisors in their designated territory, will be responsible for working directly with financial advisors to increase sales and platform adoption of Envestnet’s offerings. This individual is the lead member of a seven person team responsible for supporting, promoting and distributing Envestnet solutions to advisors across their assigned territory. The selected candidate will partner with other sales team members, marketing, key accounts and other stakeholders to distribute solutions to the marketplace.
Key tenets for this position will include strategic planning, development and prioritization of distribution opportunities, direct selling through a consultative approach and resolving advisor quandaries. The role requires a deep understanding of the fee-based advisory business, financial wellness solutions and the intersection of investment management with financial technology.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop, enhance, and execute the distribution plan for strategist, SMA, and UMA product types within the enterprise channel.
- Identify opportunities to expand outsourced solutions in advisor practices and help facilitate transitions. This will include partnering with asset management sales teams to drive platform usage and adoption.
- Help distribute and consult on PMC investment products and additional Envestnet Managed Account capabilities such as; Tax/Impact Overlay in the UMA, Quantitative Portfolio direct indexing, and PMC strategist offerings.
- Introduce and identify opportunities for Envestnet’s wide array of Financial Wellness Solutions and Exchanges to financial advisors. This includes lead generation for Envestnet MoneyGuide Financial Planning software, Insurance Exchange, Credit Exchange, Trust Exchange and future additions.
- Play a lead role in identifying advisors that would benefit from value added practice management sessions. Drive attendance to sessions delivered by third-party providers, asset managers and Envestnet hosted events. In addition, guide and mentor advisors through various practice management courses.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, competitors and strategic relationships/partnerships. Where appropriate, educate, mentor and share knowledge with the organization’s management, internal staff, partners, customers and prospects about the company’s distribution strategy, opportunities and challenges.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across Envestnet to develop, inform and ensure buy-in of proposed solutions.
- Participate in industry events/conferences and maintain well documented records.
- Adherence to and application of Envestnet legal, compliance, risk, business continuity and administrative policy within the role and department(s) including the timely completion of training & awareness, affirmations and testing as requested.
- As part of the responsibilities for this role, you will understand and readily support Envestnet’s established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls and procedures designed to create value or minimize risk.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of financial services experiences, preferably in advisory platform/asset management sales
- BA/BS in finance, business administration or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong understanding of the advisory business model and financial planning process
- Developed and successfully executed product and go-to-market strategies within the financial services industry
- 10+ years’ experience of working with financial advisors, managing a region and achieving sales quotas
- Strong business acumen and exceptional leadership, organizational, communication and presentation skills
- Excellent people and management skills to interact with clients, colleagues, cross-functional teams as well as third parties
- Willingness to travel up to 80%
- Agile; able to identify and apply appropriate “win-win” solutions even in new situations
Preferred Qualifications:
- CFP/CFA designation is a plus
- Current relationships with financial advisors in West region
- Live in West region (Envestnet does not offer relocation expenses)

Salary:
The annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $200,000.
This position is eligible for a variable pay based on a sales incentive plan.
