Requirements
  • Knowledge of anatomical positioning and physiology.
  • Ability to perform high-quality ultrasound examinations on children, adolescents, and adults for physician interpretation.
  • Experience performing ultrasound scans is preferred, with one year specified.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Sonography or certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification is required, either from the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers or an American Red Cross CPR/AED certification for Professional Rescuers and Healthcare Providers.
  • Ability to work while standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting, climbing ladders or step stools, and working in confined or elevated spaces as specified.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds unassisted, lift and move patients weighing approximately 350 pounds with assistance, and push or pull objects or patients weighing approximately 350 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to use both hands and arms, perform repetitive and fine motor movements, maintain finger dexterity and tactile sensory functions, and demonstrate excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to maintain corrected 20/40 vision, visual acuity, color discrimination, depth perception, peripheral vision, and corrected hearing acuity.
  • Ability to qualify physically for respirator use initially and annually.
  • Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Ability to learn and use new processes, tools, and equipment as required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform ultrasound procedures at the entry level.
  • Perform ultrasound examinations including abdominal examinations with elastography, small-parts examinations, pelvic and obstetric/gynecologic examinations, and scrotal and pelvic Doppler examinations.
  • Perform ultrasound examinations for interpretation by a physician.
Desired Qualifications
  • One year of experience performing ultrasound scans.
