About the Opportunity:
Associate Director of Prints & Editions | $100-110k
David Zwirner seeks a full-time Associate Director of Prints & Editions, supporting the Director of Prints & Editions to focus on secondary market print sales and client development. The ideal candidate will bring existing client relationships to the role as well as the ability to cultivate new ones through strategic client development initiatives. A thorough working knowledge of prints & editions and the secondary art market is required.
What you’ll do:
Sales
- Generate print sales and secondary market consignments
- Working with the Director of Prints & Editions, strategically develop and expand the client base for prints & editions at the gallery, specifically bringing previous client relationships and establishing strategies for cultivating new clients
- Work with the Director of Prints & Editions on future initiatives to expand the gallery’s print business
- Represent the gallery at the IFPDA Print Fair
- Create, manage, and direct the content of online sales presentations and other sales materials
- Manage communication with sales team regarding print releases and other projects
Marketing
- Oversee marketing of secondary market Prints & Editions initiatives
- Work with the Director of Prints & Editions to identify key moments for sales presentations timed to fairs, institutional exhibitions, and other cultural events
- Help establish a cadence and calendar for the Prints & Editions program
- Support the Director of Prints & Editions in working internally with the Sales, Client Development, Digital, Marketing, and Books teams to integrate and cross-promote the print program
- Communicate between internal and external parties regarding Prints & Editions partnerships, collaborations, and projects
Analytics
- Support the Director of Prints & Editions in defining long term vision, KPIs of success, tracking, and metrics for the department, with input from key stakeholders at the gallery
What we would like you to have:
- BA in Art History and/or Arts Administration
- 5+ years of sales experience and strong client relationships
- Thorough working knowledge of prints & editions and the secondary art market
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
