Electrical Controls Engineers at SDC are collaborative, detail-oriented individuals that are responsible for developing and programming complete solutions for automated equipment according to customer and internal specifications.

What You’ll Do:
- Learn to design and develop software and controls for automation equipment, including:
- Electrical and control system design
- PLC programming
- Human Machine Interface (HMI) programming
- Robotic Programming
- Troubleshooting electrical, PLC, and HMI systems
- Industrial Machine Vision Systems
- Assist with evaluating and specifying hardware and software components (robots, sensors, controllers, etc.)
- Collaborate with experienced engineers and project teams to solve technical challenges.
- Support the machine building process from assembly through testing, installation, and customer training.
- Participate in cross-functional projects, including robotics, pneumatics, and motion systems.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, embedded systems or related field required.
- Interest in automation, robotics, or machine controls.
- Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLC’s, HMI’s, Servo control, electrical design, and machine vision systems a plus.
- Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, LabView, MatLab, microcontrollers or robotic programming a plus.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support projects.
