Electrical Controls Engineers at SDC are collaborative, detail-oriented individuals that are responsible for developing and programming complete solutions for automated equipment according to customer and internal specifications.

What You’ll Do:

• Learn to design and develop software and controls for automation equipment, including:

     - Electrical and control system design

     - PLC programming

     - Human Machine Interface (HMI) programming

     - Robotic Programming

     - Troubleshooting electrical, PLC, and HMI systems

     - Industrial Machine Vision Systems 

• Assist with evaluating and specifying hardware and software components (robots, sensors, controllers, etc.)
• Collaborate with experienced engineers and project teams to solve technical challenges.
• Support the machine building process from assembly through testing, installation, and customer training. 
• Participate in cross-functional projects, including robotics, pneumatics, and motion systems.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, embedded systems or related field required.
• Interest in automation, robotics, or machine controls. 
• Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLC’s, HMI’s, Servo control, electrical design, and machine vision systems a plus. 
• Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, LabView, MatLab, microcontrollers or robotic programming a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support projects.
