Requirements
  • A High School Diploma, General Educational Development credential, or equivalent experience is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in customer systems support, customer operations, service operations, order management, case management, or a related field is required.
  • Customer service skills are required to resolve common everyday issues and prevent escalations or customer complaints.
  • Strong personal organizational skills are required to complete assigned tasks and priorities successfully.
  • The ability to work interdependently with other team members to accomplish daily tasks and processes is required.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and professionally verbally, non-verbally, and in writing is required.
  • Introductory computer skills are required to operate company systems and programs effectively, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, or similar database programs and structures.
  • Introductory knowledge and experience using Microsoft Outlook features, including email file retention and retrieval, contact management, and calendar and task tracking tools, is required.
Responsibilities
  • Receive, identify, and triage all Maximum Allowable Cost requests submitted through the MAC mailbox.
  • Perform daily data entry for all MAC requests, additions, and updates, including online submissions and outcome communications.
  • Submit weekly research requests to pharmacy benefit management companies and track and follow up on open items.
  • Manage the MAC mailbox to ensure timely responses and queue hygiene.
  • Create, update, and close MAC cases in applicable systems according to established workflows.
  • Monitor case aging and prioritize the pending review queue to minimize backlog.
  • Update MAC cases based on pharmacy benefit management company responses and document outcomes accurately for audit and reporting purposes.
  • Submit MAC appeals to pharmacy benefit management companies within required timeframes and track submission status and outcomes.
  • Challenge unfavorable MAC responses using available program data and appeal pathways.
  • Monitor favorable and unfavorable outcome rates and escalate systemic issues or trends to management.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex MAC cases and pharmacy benefit management company disputes.
  • Produce bi-weekly and monthly customer-facing MAC reports, including case volume, submission rates, and outcome summaries.
  • Track and communicate key MAC performance metrics, including case creation, submission rate, favorable outcome rate, and pending review aging.
  • Partner with information technology, operations, and pharmacy benefit management company teams to resolve MAC-related issues affecting customer economics.
  • Maintain standard operating procedures, reference materials, and documentation for MAC workflows.
  • Flag and escalate systemic MAC pricing issues that may affect program participation or customer retention.
Desired Qualifications
  • Certification in information technology service management, customer support, customer relationship management systems, process improvement, or an equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Working knowledge or experience with pharmacy benefit management companies and retail pharmacy operations is preferred.
