Requirements
  • Doctoral Degree in the appropriate field or discipline, or the recognized terminal degree, or the equivalent foreign equivalent.
Responsibilities
  • Join the Liang Laboratory team to explore innovative strategies to enhance tumor immunogenicity and overcome resistance to immunotherapy.
  • Identify metabolic vulnerabilities in cancer and develop metabolic interventions to convert immunologically cold tumors into hot tumors to promote immune recognition and response.
  • Investigate both genetic and chemical approaches to enhance MHC class I–mediated antigen presentation in tumor cells to increase tumor visibility to cytotoxic immune cells.
  • Work with cutting-edge models and techniques in tumor immunology, cancer metabolism, and therapeutic development.
  • Receive comprehensive training in experimental design and execution, grant writing, scientific communication, and career development, with the goal of preparing for independent research careers in academia or industry.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in cancer biology, metabolism and immunology.
  • Experience in flow cytometry and scRNAseq.
  • Experience in CRISPR screening and/or drug screening.
  • Experience in mouse work, such as xenograft tumor models.
  • Ability to work and collaborate effectively with students, faculty and staff from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.
