Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Customer service experience is required.
  • Proficiency in office software including Excel and Word is required.
  • Proficiency utilizing payer websites is required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, is required.
  • Ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced work environment is required.
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Review charges and data for accuracy and appeal discrepancies regarding Current Procedural Terminology (CPT-4) and International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision (ICD-10) codes with insurance companies.
  • Validate and correct registration and insurance information, enter notations, and submit corrected claims.
  • Research and interpret information to efficiently reconcile accounts.
  • Review and understand payer policy guidelines regarding billing.
  • Follow internal policies and procedures for accurate account review.
  • Meet expected production and quality standards.
  • Provide efficient and timely follow-up of delinquent and denied accounts from third-party payers.
  • Complete appeals, phone calls, and account reviews to secure revenue for physician services.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • An Associate of Applied Science degree is preferred.
  • Experience providing phone-based customer service is a plus.
