Fubo rolling out upgraded sports streaming experience on Android and iOS. April 9, 2026 Fubo is now in the process of rolling out an optimized streaming experience via its Android and iOS mobile apps. The change is specifically designed to offer sports fans a better on-the-go experience when using their mobile devices. Key Takeaways * Fubo's AI-enhanced mobile experience on Android and iOS provides sports fans with faster access to live content, highlights, and breaking updates on the go. * New features include live video carousels, expanded Team Channels, vertical video, and AI-powered alerts. * Thanks to the new features, subscribers will be able to access key plays, news, and personalized moments instantly. While Fubo has always been a popular live TV option for sports fans, that doesn't mean the sports-centric experience is perfect. And when it comes to the live TV service's mobile apps, this is now one of the key areas Fubo is looking to improve. What's more, it seems Fubo is leaning heavily on the use of AI to power these latest mobile improvements. Presumably, the same AI the company already uses to offer AI-generated Instant Headlines on living room devices. "At Fubo, we've already mastered the living room. Now, we're conquering the on-the-go space," said Isaac Josephson, senior vice president, product management, Fubo. According to Fubo, the new optimized Android and iOS experience includes: * Live video in carousels - Start watching the game right on Fubo's home mobile screen with live, in-line video in carousels. By featuring live video, rather than static images, immediately when opening the app, users can find and discover content more quickly. Live video also turns the dynamic home screen into a destination within the Fubo app. * Advanced Team Channels - Fubo's popular Team Channels feature enables users who have DVR'd coverage of their favorite teams to stream team-based playlists of bite-sized game coverage and news. Now this expanded feature offers more filters based on favorite leagues, and coverage of key sports moments at large. * Vertical (portrait) video for Team Channels - Aligning with the vertical mobile experience, Team Channels is showcased on the home screen in portrait mode. This feature will launch in the coming weeks. * Key moments in Game Alerts - Fubo's personalized Game Alerts, which notifies fans when their favorite teams are playing, has been expanded. Now, pro baseball fans can receive push notifications about the biggest plays, and, with AI, tap to see them on the go. * Breaking news alerts - With Fubo's AI technology, users can receive breaking news text alerts while they're on the go. And, with one tap of the text, they can start watching live news coverage. With these improvements, Fubo is looking to make sure sports fans have the best streaming experience possible, whether they are at home or away from home. Discover more Online Video TV & Video "We recognize that sports fans and news junkies aren't always at home. By leveraging our proprietary AI at scale, we're transforming the Fubo mobile app from a simple streaming tool into a high-value, personalized, content engine. Fans rely on their smartphones for updates and quick hits, and Fubo is committed to delivering these high-stakes moments in addition to full live coverage," added Josephson. What local channels are available on YouTube TV? Your complete guide. Cutting the cord doesn't mean giving up your favorite local channels - and YouTube TV promises to keep you connected to the news, sports, and entertainment that matter most in your area. But exactly which local channels can you watch on YouTube TV, and how does its lineup compare to other streaming services? Whether you're a sports fan, news junkie, or just want access to your hometown stations, knowing what's available can help you decide if YouTube TV is the right fit for your streaming needs. In this complete guide, Samsung Techwin Co Ltd'll break down the local channels offered by YouTube TV, how to find them, and how it stacks up against competitors like Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV, and FuboTV. Table of Contents Local channels. Local networks are the OTT streaming services' fatal flaw. A single media corporation often owns pay TV networks like Discovery, Bravo, Lifetime, MTV, Disney, etc. And that business handles its national (or international) distribution. However, commercial broadcast networks, such as ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, and so on, are made up of several local stations subject to a complicated set of laws that have been developed and modified throughout nearly a century of television. Therefore, you must negotiate with Discovery Communications to carry Discovery. All of your subscribers can now access Discovery from anywhere in the nation. However, it would help if you bargained with Disney (ABC's parent corporation) and the many ABC-affiliated stations nationwide to carry ABC. Some people might not be interested, while others might demand less money. For some regions, a specific network may not even have a local affiliate (this is more typical for smaller networks like The CW and UniMás). And all of this independent contracting adds up. This explains why significant providers like Hulu, Fubo, and DirecTV offer local networks, whereas discount provider Philo does not. You can watch the following networks on YouTube TV if (a) a particular network has a local affiliate in your location and (b) that affiliate agrees to be carried by YouTube TV: * ABC * CBS * Fox * NBC * PBS * The CW * Telemundo * Telemundo * UniMás. Only FuboTV has a list that comes close to being comprehensive regarding local networks. There is sporadic coverage of The CW and Univision, and none of the others carry UniMás. The only streaming provider that provides PBS is YouTube TV. PBS is available for free on its own through its website or app, so this isn't a big problem. Recommended Video: what local channels on YouTube can you watch? Localized sports networks. There are few regional sports networks (RSNs) on YouTube TV. Not nearly as many as DIRECTV STREAM and not as many as FuboTV. The Bally RSNs (previously Fox Sports and now owned by Sinclair Broadcasting), AT&T SportsNet, and Spectrum Sports are the only regional sports networks that aren't NBC Sports. If you want to watch most of the games played by your home team in MLB, NBA, WNBA, NHL, and MLS, you'll need an RSN. RSNs are the mainstay of the channel roster for ardent sports lovers. The same RSNs are available on Hulu + Live TV and YouTube TV. FuboTV offers about twice as many. However, you must subscribe to the $89.99/mo DIRECTV STREAM Choice plan if you are beyond the service area. Issues with YouTube TV's Home section and local channels. YouTube TV is a relatively reliable service for local networks, but it has its challenges. To begin with, YouTube TV heavily relies on a Home region, which will impact which local channels a subscriber or household has access to. Due to this, it is crucial that YouTube TV's Home area be accurate and updated when shifting homes. If not, subscribers risk getting the incorrect local channels. Even worse, there was none. Consumers have reported that they are receiving the incorrect local channels even if the Home is set correctly. The local channels are the problem in most situations, not YouTube TV. For instance, despite a subscriber anticipating receiving a specific local channel or network, the channel may have discovered that the subscriber's location really gives them access to a different nearby local channel than they had anticipated. Instead of the wrong channel being delivered in the first place, this is frequently the result of the local channel's agreement with the region. Additionally, customers using YouTube TV away from home will discover that they need help accessing their regular local stations. Therefore, they won't be able to record any of these channels, even though they are likely to see locals who are pertinent to the location they have visited. Blackouts are another problem that customers of YouTube TV frequently experience with local stations and RSN. But, once more, this is a choice made by the particular channel and not necessarily a result of YouTube TV. A YouTube TV member may occasionally have access to a local channel but discover that a channel blackout prevents them from watching at certain times or during certain events. Those who want to watch local live sports are far more likely to face this problem. Replacements for YouTube TV. The live TV streaming industry is highly competitive. As a result, each service has benefits and drawbacks. However, the sector has become more centralized in many areas. One relates to streaming technology. Most of them work with the most popular gadgets, including the Xbox gaming console, LG, Roku, Samsung, Vizio smart TVs, Android, Apple TV, Chromecast, and Apple TV. * Hulu Plus Live TV: A comparable service in price (the same) and channel count (roughly the same). The CW is not included in Hulu's Live TV's local lineup, but its regional coverage is marginally better. Also absent from Hulu are the AMC Networks channels (AMC, Sundance TV, IFC, Allblk, and west), superior original programming, and a more extensive selection of on-demand materials. Hulu does, however, offer A&E networks. * A similar service to Hulu + Live TV and YouTube TV is FuboTV. More channels for the same price, but a more significant proportion are sports networks. More RSNs are present. Furthermore, it shouldn't be a surprise that its coverage of international sports is significantly more significant, given that it was developed to give access to soccer matches that would not have otherwise reached the US. * DIRECTV STREAM: Despite being more expensive and offering fewer channels, it has many benefits, including improved local channel geographic coverage. It is the king of RSNs, giving everyone access except NBC Sports Philadelphia. * Sling TV: Sling TV is an exclusive option, starting at $40.00/mo. Suppose you prefer options but need more money. It doesn't have ABC and CBS, but you can still receive NBC and Fox, and if you're willing to set up a free antenna, you can watch all four (with the purchase of two months). * Video: A less expensive streaming service ($59.95/mo), it offers several local channels and excellent NCAA sports coverage among its 100+ channels. * Philo: Take a look at Philo if you ponder why anyone would need so many sports and news channels compared to more extensive services like YouTube TV. It only has one news station, BBC World News, and offers a few sporting events. But for only $25 per month, it offers more than 60 channels. Conclusion. There are local stations on YouTube TV that users can watch, including ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC. However, YouTube TV does make it simple to examine which local channels will be available before joining up and needing to pay. The precise local channel selection may vary based on the location. Regarding locals, YouTube TV is generally a better live TV streaming site. However, while the local channel experience offered to YouTube TV subscribers is generally positive, it could be more flawless. Locals' access to local channels may be hampered by inaccurate location information because local channels are linked to the home area where YouTube TV has stored. Additionally, customers may experience difficulties when traveling or during content blocks trying to access their typical local stations. Frequently asked questions. Why am I unable to access local channels on YouTube TV? You must be in your new home area to update your home on YouTube TV. Use YouTube TV in your hometown at least once every three months if you travel a lot. By doing this, YouTube TV can continue to provide you with the appropriate local networks. What is the price of local channels on YouTube TV? You receive 85+ cable and local channels for $64.99 monthly and an unlimited cloud DVR. The familiarity factor is YouTube TV's main benefit over other streaming TV services. How do I access only the local channels? There are various ways to stream your local network channels if you want to avoid utilizing an antenna. The three services, DIRECTV STREAM, Hulu + Live TV, and YouTube TV, are the best for streaming local ABC, NBC, Fox, and CBS. In almost every US market, they all provide a way to live stream major broadcast networks. Fubo adds BravesVision for Atlanta Braves fans and SNY for NY Mets fans. March 27, 2026 Fubo has now added the BravesVision and SNY (SportsNet New York) RSNs to its channel lineup. The arrival of the two regional sports networks ensures Atlanta Braves and New York Mets fans can watch their favorite teams play. Discover more TV & Video Entertainment Media Rentals Key Takeaways * Fubo now carries BravesVision and SNY, giving Atlanta Braves and New York Mets fans access to their regional sports networks. * BravesVision arrives via a new multiyear deal, offering more than 140 games plus pre- and post-game shows across the six-state Braves Country region. * SNY returns after a prior dispute and now means Fubo offers all three major New York RSNs (MSG, YES, SNY). The addition of BravesVision is the result of a new multiyear distribution agreement between Fubo and the Atlanta Braves. With the RSN available from today (March 27), it arrives just in time for the Braves' Opening Day game against the Kansas City Royals. All Braves games shown on the network during the season will be available to Fubo live TV subscribers throughout the six-state Braves Country territory, which includes Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee, and western North Carolina. In addition to the more than 140 games produced for BravesVision, Fubo subscribers will also be able to stream the new Braves On Deck pre-game show and the Braves Postgame post-game show. As for SNY, this is more of a return than an addition, as the regional sports network was removed from Fubo back in 2024, the result of a carriage dispute. Either way, with the network now available again, New York Mets fans based in the New York metropolitan area, which includes New York State, Connecticut, and parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania, can watch the Mets as part of their Fubo package. Discover more Streaming Media Players Online Media TV & Video Equipment For New York sports fans in general, the return of SNY now means Fubo carries all three NY-based regional sports networks (MSG, YES Network, SNY). The addition of BravesVision and the return of SNY also follow the addition of Spectrum SportsNet LA. This regional sports network was added to the lineup yesterday, providing those in the SportsNet LA area with another way to stream Los Angeles Dodgers games. Nationals fans confused over access to new Nationals TV channel on Verizon Fios on Opening Day. 03.27.2026 Some Verizon Fios TV subscribers found themselves "shut out" of the Nationals new broadcast channel on Opening Day, according to Nusbaum & Drellich of THE ATHLETIC. Some subscribers said that they were told by Verizon customer service representatives that "watching the game would require a more expensive package than they needed previously." Some were "told, incorrectly, that the new channel was not available on any package." That confusion "lingered into the evening," when it remained unclear whether fans hoping to watch Nationals broadcasts this season "would need to pay more." MLB is newly overseeing the Nats' television efforts Nationals.TV. None of the parties addressed questions about whether the cable provider is "offering Nats broadcasts in a different tier of service than it had in the past when the games aired" on MASN (THE ATHLETIC, 3/27). In D.C., Liam Griffin noted the channel will also be available to Charter, Comcast, DirecTV, Cox, Spectrum, Verizon Fios and Fubo subscribers. The new channel will be available for no additional charge to subscribers of those cable providers (WASHINGTON TIMES, 3/26). EXPANDING THE REACH: The Braves and Comcast have reached a distribution agreement to bring the team's new owned and operated network, BravesVision, to Comcast customers. BravesVision will be available on Xfinity TV beginning Friday as the Braves take on the Royals at Truist Park for their Opening Day. Braves games will be available for Xfinity TV customers in Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee and western North Carolina (Braves). MORE ACCESS: FuboTV and Spectrum SportsNet LA on Thursday reached an agreement that brings the Dodgers to Fubo's sports-first live TV streaming platform. Fubo will stream SportsNet LA's coverage of every available Dodgers game, including pre- and postgame shows and exclusive content. Viewers will also be able to watch the network's signature series, "Backstage: Dodgers," on the service. At launch, SportsNet LA will be available to subscribers of the FuboTV base plan in the SportsNet LA footprint (Fubo).
FuboTV shares have dropped 65.9% over the past six months, now trading at $1.18. Despite the cheaper valuation, the streaming company faces significant headwinds that suggest continued underperformance. The company's domestic subscriber growth has been underwhelming at 6.2 million subscribers, averaging 48.8% year-on-year growth over two years. This weak volume growth may force fuboTV to lower prices or increase product investments, pressuring profitability. FuboTV's operating margin averaged negative 6.2% over the last two years, indicating an inefficient cost structure. The company also burned cash with a negative 4% free cash flow margin, consuming $4.03 for every $100 in revenue. Trading at 1.2× forward EV-to-EBITDA, the stock appears cheap but faces substantial downside risk given its fundamental challenges.
