  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Five or more years of related work experience in operational management are required.
  • The Operations Manager Trainee must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and automobile insurance, with the driver's license verified through a motor vehicle record check at hire.
  • The Operations Manager Trainee must have reliable transportation to travel to multiple assigned offices per day, sometimes several times per day; reliable alternate transportation is acceptable in lieu of a driver's license and automobile insurance.
  • The candidate must be able to accommodate planned or unplanned travel that may change without notice.
  • The candidate must be proficient with Microsoft applications, Epic, 1VU, BOX, and standard office equipment.
  • The candidate must understand dental plans, insurance fees, administrative guidelines, limitations and exclusions, reporting systems, business correspondence, business reporting techniques, and profit and loss statements.
  • The candidate must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common financial reports and legal documents and respond to inquiries from patients, team members, regulatory agencies, vendors, and other business community members.
  • The candidate must be able to draw valid conclusions, apply sound judgment, make timely decisions with incomplete information, interpret and apply policies and procedures, and make decisions under pressure.
  • The candidate must be able to apply probability, statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • The candidate must be able to communicate effectively and present information verbally and in writing.
  • The candidate must be able to lead a team, prioritize duties, coach, mentor, train, write effective performance evaluations, conduct feedback, and handle team member relations issues.
  • The candidate must be organized, detail oriented, process focused, proactive, self-motivated, and able to identify, analyze, and solve problems.
  • The candidate must be able to create presentations and use presentation skills.
  • The candidate must be able to multitask and prioritize tasks and projects with limited direction in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment without compromising quality.

Responsibilities
  • Complete the Operations Manager Development Program through structured curriculum, on-the-job practical application, and development meetings.
  • Model company culture, values, standards, and best operational practices based on the We Believe Behavioral Framework.
  • Assess, hire, train, supervise, counsel, coach, and retain right-fit team members.
  • Assess, investigate, and resolve staff and patient issues by analyzing facts and circumstances and developing timely, effective solutions.
  • Execute the PDS Operational Model consistently to meet office imperatives in partnership with the Owner Dentist.
  • Drive year-over-year revenue and profit growth.
  • Manage expenses to achieve monthly goals and budget.
  • Maintain proficiency in and adherence to cash management and accounting protocols.
  • Facilitate team development of the Perfect Patient Experience.
  • Deliver leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members and identify and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain open communication with direct supervisors, report accomplishments and improvement areas weekly to the Regional Manager, and establish clear performance goals.
  • Use People-related functions, including assessment, hiring, retention, performance evaluation, separation processes, and compensation guidance and execution.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and state, federal, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate competency in managing Front Office and Back Office team members and developing the team by the end of the development program.
  • Develop and implement an office success plan, including staff development and office protocols for efficient operations during manager absences.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the direct supervisor that improve team member development outcomes.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate degree or bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience leading a team, mentoring, and coaching subordinates is preferred.
