- At least 3 years of experience in systems and network support.
- Security+ certification or an equivalent certification compliant with Department of Defense 8570 Information Assurance Technical Level II requirements.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate or Network+ certification.
- ITIL Foundation certification, or the ability to obtain it within 60 days of hire.
- Experience providing local-area network and wide-area network support.
- Experience with firewall administration.
- Experience with Microsoft server installation, server roles, Active Directory, storage, performance management, and maintenance.
- Experience supporting Department of Defense projects.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally at all organizational levels.
- Availability to support a 24/7/365 environment, including occasional assigned-shift changes and rotational after-hours, weekend, or holiday coverage.
- Ability to travel to continental United States sites for temporary-duty support.
- U.S. citizenship and a current Secret security clearance.
- Eligibility to access classified information following a U.S. government security investigation.
- Provide Tier 1 enterprise information technology help desk support to AFCENT users.
- Troubleshoot incidents and problems and implement solutions across supported systems, network infrastructure, voice, and video, including enterprise-level routers, switches, servers, firewalls, proxies, and caching arrays.
- Monitor systems and network performance metrics and trends to identify substandard performance and anomalies.
- Escalate complex systems and network performance, bandwidth, and security issues and incidents to Tier 2 and Tier 3 senior engineers or subject-matter experts for analysis and resolution.
- Perform Local Registration Authority duties.
- Provide local-area network support and wide-area network enterprise support.
