A new benchmark for high throughput cost efficient ICP OES. 29 May, 2026 PerkinElmer AES (UK) Limited Building on decades of ICP-OES innovation and market leadership, the Avio(R) 3000 expands PerkinElmer's portfolio, enabling high-speed analysis with outstanding stability and detection limits, low operating costs, and simplified workflows that deliver accurate, defensible data. PerkinElmer recently announced the launch of the Avio(R) 3000 inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometer, their top-tier true simultaneous ICP-OES. Engineered to support laboratories operating under constant throughput and cost pressures, the Avio 3000 delivers rapid ICP-OES analysis alongside data consistency required for regulatory-driven environments. Optimised for efficiency and reliability, the system reduces consumables, energy use, and operational complexity to deliver measurable cost savings. The combination of high performance and low operating costs in the Avio 3000 ICP-OES is made possible by the seamless integration of third-generation proprietary technologies with field-proven ones, allowing laboratories to achieve high analytical performance while maintaining efficient, cost-effective operation. Third-generation proprietary technologies include: a patented detector designed exclusively for ICP-OES, delivering improved signal-to-background ratio, precision, and speed; a cutting-edge optical system that enhances data quality while simplifying operation; patented HeliPlate(TM) plasma technology that consumes up to 50% less argon than traditional helical coil systems while improving plasma robustness; chiller-free operation further contributes to savings in electricity, heat, noise, and maintenance, reduces the carbon footprint, and occupies less laboratory space. The Avio 3000 builds on a strong tradition of reliable, low-maintenance instrumentation, providing a high-performance true simultaneous ICP-OES system with reduced on-going operating costs.
Perten, a PerkinElmer company specialising in food quality control solutions, has opened a Process NIR Center of Excellence at its Stockholm headquarters. The facility is designed to help food manufacturers adopt near-infrared technology for real-time process monitoring and quality control. The centre offers live demonstrations of Perten's benchtop, in-line and on-line NIR analysers using real samples, helping customers transition from traditional laboratory testing to continuous measurement. The facility supports collaborative development across various food sectors, including grains, cereals, dairy processing, snack foods and edible oils. Managing Director Paul Morrison said the centre enables customers to achieve tighter process control, reduced waste and improved margins. The facility complements Perten's global network of technical support and maintains an extensive library of validated calibrations for faster deployment.
