Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; working towards Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.
- Experience with MRI is a plus.
- Experience with Real Estate industry, specifically office buildings and development, is a plus.
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and income tax basis financial reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for and review work of staff.
- Prepare schedules to support balance sheet accounts in conjunction with property managers: Unbilled Accounts Receivable, Prepaids, Accrued expenses, Fixed assets including depreciation and amortization schedules.
- Prepare necessary journal entries for review by controller.
- Assist with preparation of monthly reporting packages for distribution to partners and clients.
- Understand variance analysis for assigned properties and work with property managers to properly explain in monthly reports.
- Assist with annual budgets in coordination with property managers and upload into MRI.
- Review accruals and profit and loss variance explanations prepared by property managers.
- Compile monthly reports for distribution to partners and clients.
- Assist property managers with common area maintenance reconciliations.
- Review and approve new vendors to be set up in MRI.
- Coordinate with property managers, asset managers, and leasing to prepare the monthly cash requirements analysis.
