Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of collections, customer service, call center, banking, or related experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills are required.
  • The ability to navigate challenging conversations with professionalism and empathy is required.
  • Attention to detail and strong documentation skills are required.
  • The role requires applying state and federal regulations related to collections, bankruptcy, foreclosure, repossessions, and consumer protection.
  • The role requires the ability to work independently while remaining accountable to performance goals.
Responsibilities
  • Contact members regarding delinquent accounts and work toward successful resolution.
  • Manage consumer loan, credit card, negative share, and small commercial collection accounts.
  • Maintain accurate collection records and documentation.
  • Partner with attorneys, repossession vendors, and external collection agencies when appropriate.
  • Make recommendations regarding repossessions, charge-offs, and collection strategies.
  • Deliver member service while meeting performance and quality goals.
  • Support department reporting and operational initiatives.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate degree from an accredited college or university is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience in collections, customer service, call center, banking, or a related field is preferred.
  • Fluency in a second language in addition to English is highly encouraged.
