Requirements
- Hands-on experience with fiber optic splicing, terminations, testing, and troubleshooting
- Strong technical skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to obtain a Security clearance
Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and splice fiber optic cables in both indoor and outdoor environments
- Run, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cabling for data, voice, and video applications
- Use OTDRs, power meters, and light sources to test fiber optic networks and troubleshoot signal loss or connectivity issues
- Perform fusion and mechanical splicing, as well as connector termination for fiber optic cables
- Install and configure networking equipment, racks, patch panels, and enclosures
- Maintain accurate records of fiber routes, splicing diagrams, and test results
- Follow industry standards and safety protocols (OSHA, NEC, ANSI/TIA/EIA) to ensure quality and safe installations
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members to ensure project success and customer satisfaction
- Diagnose and resolve fiber optic network issues efficiently to minimize downtime
