LOCATION:Apply Digital is hybrid/remote friendly. The preferred candidate should be based in the Greater Toronto Area of Canada, working in hours that align to ET (Eastern Timezone).

As a Strategy Director, Product Marketing, you will thrive as a senior leader and partner with one of our key accounts. You will drive impact on our client’s Digital Experience team and spearhead the transformation of their digital presence, marking a pivotal role in facilitating change across their biggest brands. This role entails holding accountability for strategic client deliverables, where you will oversee the launch and implementation of partnership initiatives, ensuring seamless execution and measurable impact back to the client. You will focus on cultivating and leading the growth of client business through senior-level consulting, identifying new opportunities, and independently setting detailed strategy approaches to deliver digital business transformation. You will lead and mentor a team dedicated to driving marketing strategies across digital platforms, working in close partnership to ensure innovative, thoughtful strategy and flawless execution across various channels, including websites, apps, and email, among others. This role is not just about leading the strategy; it’s about setting the pace for our client’s digital future and ensuring the highest quality and optimal outcomes for both our clients and our team members.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key brand partners, acting as the primary point of contact to ensure ongoing collaboration, communication, and satisfaction. This includes aligning on priorities and integrating digital strategies into inter-agency planning, identifying digital opportunities for brand enhancement.
- Lead our client team in advancing digital product and marketing personalization strategies, focusing on segmentation, ad tech and martech integration, and identifying growth opportunities.
- Direct the creation of consumer journeys with an emphasis on re-engagement and data enrichment, leveraging business, marketing, and digital goals.
- Guide teams in employing strategic marketing frameworks for CRM, personalization, product briefs, and their execution to enhance digital experiences.
- Effectively communicate the value of digital initiatives to senior stakeholders, adapting messages to suit differing levels of technical understanding.
- Provide senior-level consulting to foster client business growth and discover new opportunities.
- Develop detailed strategies for digital business transformation and product experience, utilizing frameworks and data insights for client recommendations.
- Create engaging presentations and workshops to inspire clients and stakeholders, ensuring high-quality deliverables and outcomes across projects.
- Proactively seek new opportunities to expand existing accounts and contribute to business development pitches and strategy estimates.
- Facilitate optimal team assignment on projects, considering individual development, strengths, and interests.
- Mentor junior Strategy team members, supporting their career growth through dedicated coaching and planning.
REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a Marketing / Digital Experience leadership role.
- At least 3 years of experience in a consulting or agency company, specifically in a people management capacity.
- Proven experience in product marketing, brand marketing, or a related field, with a preference for experience in consumer goods.
- Possession of an MBA or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is considered an asset.
- Skilled in stakeholder and agency management, including brief writing, managing agencies, and communicating with cross-functional stakeholders. Confident in presenting to various levels of leadership.
- A consumer-first mindset, with experience synthesizing key insights from user behaviour to drive engagement and performance recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to set strategy, working with SMEs to develop, deliver, and optimize marketing and product strategies. Experience with digital content strategies preferred.
- Excellence in digital consulting, with a bias for action and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong experience in digital and customer experience strategy, research (both primary and secondary), workshop design and facilitation, and direct client interaction.
- Comfortable working in hybrid and distributed teams across multiple time zones, with experience working for or with global and enterprise companies.
- The individual in this role must be able to work on-site at our Toronto office once a week.
- Knowledge of technology solutions, platforms, and applications that enable digital experiences is a bonus.
- Excellent data analysis, research, and communication skills.
- Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment.
- A collaborative spirit and team player attitude, with the initiative to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, multitask, and maintain a growth mindset.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, proactive, and self-motivated, with a passion for emerging technology and staying abreast of market trends.
- Capable of effectively delegating and prioritizing across multiple focus areas, with a strong focus on achieving business objectives.
