Requirements
  • A master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), with the degree completed by January 4, 2027.
  • Clinical and/or teaching experience in speech-language pathology or related communication sciences and disorders areas.
  • Experience working with speech and language areas including communication, cognitive communication, articulation and phonetics, swallowing, fluency, voice, speech sound, and/or language disorders.
  • Knowledge of typical and atypical communication development across the lifespan.
  • Experience with assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and evidence-based practice.
  • Ability to comply with applicable university employment requirements, including the Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.
  • Required application materials include an updated curriculum vitae, cover letter, and Mission Alignment Statement.
Responsibilities
  • Teach Speech and Language Track courses on the BYU campus, typically twice weekly, for three credits.
  • Prepare and deliver instruction integrating theory, research, clinical application, and evidence-based practice.
  • Teach content in speech and language development, phonetics, speech sound disorders, developmental and acquired language disorders, cognitive communication disorders, neurogenic communication disorders, voice, swallowing disorders, assessment, multicultural issues, augmentative and alternative communication, and intervention.
  • Assess student learning through exams, assignments, presentations, and applied learning activities.
  • Maintain regular communication with students, including timely grading and feedback.
  • Collaborate with department faculty to align instruction with program outcomes and accreditation standards.
  • Stay current with developments in the profession and incorporate relevant advances into instruction.
  • Teach in accordance with the university's mission and aims of education.
  • Relocate to and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.
