Requirements
  • Master's degree in Athletic Training Program (ATEP) with 5 years of experience or a bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience
  • Must have experience working with athletes in high school, collegiate, professional, or military settings
  • Basic Life Support
  • Must have proof of Covid vaccination prior to starting work
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strength training and aerobic conditioning programs for implementation in large group settings for performance optimization and primary prevention of injuries
  • Provide appropriate corrective exercise programs to address neuromuscular control, posture, lumbopelvic and foot core stability, and functional/occupational reconditioning
  • Assess Airmen/Trainees to screen for factors that would increase their risk of injury/illness
  • Provide appropriate clinical follow-up for reevaluation of individuals with injuries
  • Assist in coordinating and supervising fitness of Airmen/Trainees who either are working to recover from an injury and/or have failed a physical fitness test
  • Ensure referrals are accurate, appropriate, and efficiently placed
  • Work congruently with other Athletic Trainers, Sports Medicine Officer in Charge (OIC), sports medicine physician(s), and Military leadership to ensure clinical care objectives are met in their assigned site/squadron
  • Evaluate and recommend new techniques and equipment that would enhance the benefit of performance optimization for the sports medicine team
