Requirements
  • Five to ten years of experience in construction management supporting non-residential construction projects.
  • A bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related discipline, or an equivalent technical degree.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Must possess the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 15 pounds.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation.
  • Must have the ability to travel and commute on a daily or routine basis.
  • Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to varying weather.
  • Must complete site safety training and adhere to site safety rules.
  • This is a safety-sensitive, field-work position requiring attendance at client construction sites.
  • IPS will not sponsor employment visas for this position.
Responsibilities
  • Report to the Project Director and Director of Operations, with matrixed supervision by the Project Manager for the assigned project.
  • Assist the Project Manager in supervising the activities of Project Engineers and Superintendents.
  • Assist the Project Manager with planning, management direction, project completion, client satisfaction, financial outcomes, and management objectives for assigned construction projects.
  • Assist the Project Manager in coordinating contractual requirements, design drawings, and project specifications.
  • Coordinate project activities, including procurement of subcontracts and purchase orders, construction billings and cash-flow projections, job-cost analysis, schedule analysis and updates, meeting minutes and documentation, monthly project reports, change-management reports, application-for-payment verification, contract administration, punch-list management, warranty review, and as-built documentation.
  • Assist with the activities of Project Engineers, Construction Managers, and Site Superintendents on assigned projects.
  • Coordinate resources to achieve project goals.
  • Manage client interaction on assigned projects and promote positive client relationships.
  • Generate project scopes of work and communicate them to the project team.
  • Assist the Procurement Manager with bid-package documentation, pre-bids and walkthroughs, bid review, and bid analysis.
  • Maintain project schedules.
  • Work with the Construction Manager and Site Superintendent to monitor performance against the target schedule and implement corrective actions for nonconformances.
  • Monitor and report project costs, including committed values, forecast-to-commit amounts, growth allowances, and actual expenditures.
  • Work with the Construction Manager and Superintendents to ensure field events, conditions, exceptions, and issues are reflected in cost reports.
  • Work with Project Services to manage project costs and exposures.
  • Assist with oversight of site safety, establish a site safety program with construction and safety personnel, monitor site safety, and correct nonconformance.
  • Visit construction sites and perform other assigned duties.
