Requirements
- A minimum of a high school diploma, current high school enrollment, or a General Educational Development (GED) credential is required.
- A drug test is required.
- The employee must undergo initial and continuous exclusion and sanction or disciplinary monitoring.
- The employee must meet any additional eligibility requirements based on the specific position.
- The employee must keep current with all state and federal requirements related to conditions of employment.
- The employee must complete all mandatory and regulatory training programs.
Responsibilities
- Assist in triaging incoming prescriptions.
- Verify and gather necessary patient information, including name, address, phone number, date of birth, allergies, chronic conditions, requests for non-safety caps, and insurance information.
- Assess the workload, establish prescription pickup times, and queue prescriptions for processing.
- Assist in delivering prescriptions to patients, including obtaining patient signatures.
- Perform cash register duties within the Pharmacy Department.
- Provide customer service to all customers.
- Perform housekeeping duties necessary to maintain a professional environment, including replenishing vials, dispensing containers, labels, and computer paper supplies.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all patient information.
- Perform all store clerk duties as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
- An Associate of Science degree or higher is preferred.
- Hospital or retail pharmacy experience is preferred.
- Vermont employees must be registered with the State of Vermont as a Pharmacy Technician.
