Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is required, along with at least five years of accounts payable work experience, including three years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Word, and automated accounting systems is required.
  • Good written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are required.
  • A strong commitment to safety is required.
  • A bachelor's degree from a U.S.-accredited educational institution or a credential evaluation for a non-U.S. educational institution is required.
Responsibilities
  • Support the Accounts Payable Director in the overall management of the unit and ensure that internal and external deadlines are met according to organizational procedures and standards.
  • Maintain and update accounts payable, petty cash, internal cash management, employee expense reimbursement, credit card, and related agency policies to align with legal and financial standards and practices.
  • Oversee special projects and review updates for ongoing operations, including employee travel reimbursement, transportation reimbursement, public transit vendor interactions, and evaluation of expenditure categories for anomalies and savings opportunities.
  • Assist the Accounts Payable Director with continuous quality improvement activities, including increased automation, risk mitigation, vendor responsibilities, procurement policies, and purchasing.
  • Interface with agency program staff at all levels regarding employee reimbursement, accounts payable policies, purchasing options, and related requirements.
  • Exercise independent decision-making regarding employee expenditures and documentation, bulk purchasing, credit card authorizations, and other accounts payable oversight responsibilities on behalf of the Accounts Payable Director.
  • Manage the Accounts Payable team and ensure that all accounts payable policies and procedures remain current.
