Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent years of experience in the industry.
  • Certified Quality Engineer as recognized by the American Society for Quality.
  • Certified International Organization for Standardization 9000 Lead Auditor, as recognized by the American National Standards Institute-American Society for Quality National Accreditation Board.
  • Membership in the American Society for Quality or another recognized national quality-focused organization.
  • A minimum of 10 years of total experience, with at least five years specifically in quality-related functions.
  • Prior experience in quality-related functions on Metropolitan Transportation Authority Heavy Civil Projects.
  • Ability to be approved by agencies and owners as required for project assignments.
Responsibilities
  • Manage all quality-related functions, develop and implement the Quality Plan, and provide oversight for all quality issues on assigned projects.
  • Review submittals, including catalog cuts, shop drawings, and as-built drawings, to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Prepare reports to document compliance with quality requirements and issue non-conformance reports when necessary.
  • Identify and report quality problems or trends within the assigned area or program and recommend corrective actions.
  • Lead or assist with project-wide system audits and surveillance, including supplier or subcontractor audits using approved checklists and procedures.
  • Support quality assurance to ensure projects are designed, procured, and installed to meet customer and division quality requirements.
  • Draft quality plans, procedures, audit checklists, and project-specific plans.
  • Implement training sessions aimed at reducing turnover and improving quality standards.
  • Conduct inspections of work, including material tests, form work, reinforcement, and structural steel.
  • Participate in the preparation and execution of equipment inspections and testing, including potential development or modification of testing procedures.
  • Schedule special inspections as required by project specifications.
