Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university.
  • Active CPA designation.
  • 5–9 years of progressive accounting experience, including a combination of public accounting and industry roles.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, with experience researching and resolving technical accounting issues.
  • Experience with multi-entity consolidations and intercompany accounting.
  • Prior experience supporting or managing external audit engagements.
  • Proficiency with enterprise resource planning systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, including managing, developing, and holding team members accountable.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for U.S. and Canadian entities, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to close calendars.
  • Review and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analyses across multiple legal entities.
  • Prepare consolidated and standalone financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP, including footnote disclosures.
  • Manage intercompany recharges, settlements, and eliminations across the Crypto.com group.
  • Research and document positions on complex or emerging accounting issues, including ASC 606, ASC 810, ASC 842, and digital asset accounting.
  • Draft and maintain accounting policies and position memos, and present conclusions to the Financial Controller and external auditors.
  • Monitor new accounting standards and assess their impact on the U.S. entities.
  • Design, implement, and maintain internal controls over financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Perform and supervise control procedures to ensure completeness and accuracy of books and records.
  • Support the Financial Controller in managing internal and external audit engagements by preparing schedules, responding to requests, and resolving findings.
  • Prepare regulatory filings, including CFTC and NFA financial reports as applicable.
  • Maintain organized workpapers and documentation to support all reported balances.
  • Oversee accounts payable operations, vendor management, and payment processing controls.
  • Review and improve month-end reporting packages for U.S. management and group reporting.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in coordination with the Director of Finance.
  • Drive process improvements and automation of manual accounting and reporting workflows.
  • Support tax return preparation and related supporting schedules.
  • Lead, develop, and retain the U.S. Accounting team by setting clear goals, coaching team members, and holding the team to high standards of accuracy and accountability.
  • Set clear, measurable expectations and hold team members accountable through performance scorecards.
  • Drive team performance and build bench strength, ensuring robust backup coverage across all critical functions.
  • Partner with Treasury, Compliance, Legal, and other business functions to support regulatory compliance and governance requirements.
  • Coordinate with global Finance counterparts to meet group reporting deadlines and drive consistency in accounting policies across jurisdictions.
  • Serve as a trusted business partner to senior leadership, providing financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Champion the adoption of process automation and artificial intelligence tools within the accounting function.
  • Identify manual processes suitable for automation and build business cases for investment.
  • Implement solutions that reduce cycle time, improve accuracy, and increase scalability.
  • Document and maintain process narratives and desktop procedures for all key workflows.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a regulated financial services environment, such as an exchange, futures commission merchant, broker-dealer, or bank.
  • Working knowledge of CFTC, NFA, or SEC regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Experience with digital assets, crypto markets, or prediction markets.
  • Experience implementing process automation or artificial intelligence tools in an accounting function.
  • Hands-on experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

Crypto.com deletes user account with funds, denies account exists for weeks

A Crypto.com user discovered his exchange account was inaccessible despite receiving login confirmation emails, with his funds frozen inside. The user, who had operated the account normally for years, found the platform returning "401 Unauthorized" errors when attempting to access his funds. Customer support provided contradictory information, first calling the account "rejected," then claiming no account existed under his email address. After BeInCrypto contacted Crypto.com with detailed questions, the exchange issued a vague statement citing regulatory compliance obligations and potential account restrictions during reviews, but provided no specific timeline for resolution. The company declined to comment on individual accounts or confirm whether the user's case involved such a review. Similar complaints have appeared in Crypto.com's public forums, with users reporting comparable access issues and support loops. Eight days after the incident, the user's funds remain inaccessible.

Crypto.com launches tokenized stocks with 24/7 trading access from $1

Crypto.com has launched Tokenized Stocks, allowing users to gain exposure to US equities and ETFs through its app. The service offers access to 1,500 underlying stocks and funds from as little as $1. Available to eligible users in the EEA and other approved jurisdictions, the product provides 24/7 trading of tokenised stocks tracking assets like NVDA, TSLA, and AAPL, as well as commodity ETFs. Users can trade fractionally with fast settlement outside traditional market hours. The tokenised stocks are derivative instruments tracking price performance without conferring ownership or shareholder rights, though users may receive dividend equivalent adjustments. Underlying assets are held with Alpaca, a US-regulated broker-dealer. For a limited period, Crypto.com offers zero-commission trading on Tokenised Stocks. The service is provided by Foris Capital CY Limited, regulated by Cyprus's financial authority.

Emirates, world's most profitable airline, accepts crypto payments for flights

Emirates has begun accepting cryptocurrency payments for flights through Crypto.com Pay on its website and mobile app. The service, launched on 28 July, is available to eligible UAE residents for bookings priced in Emirati dirham. The implementation follows a partnership agreement signed in July 2025. Customers with Crypto.com accounts can now pay directly from their digital wallets, with transactions processed according to UAE regulatory standards. Emirates is the world's largest long-haul international carrier. For the financial year ended 31 March 2026, the airline posted record profits of AED 19.7 billion (approximately $5.4 billion) on revenue of roughly $41 billion. The carrier transported 53.2 million passengers during the period. The Dubai-based airline operates a fleet of about 277 aircraft serving more than 140 destinations.

Emirates launches crypto flight payments for UAE residents only via Crypto.com

Emirates has launched cryptocurrency payments for flight bookings through Crypto.com Pay, but only UAE residents can use it—and only when booking fares priced in Emirati dirhams. The airline carried 53.2 million passengers last financial year across 152 cities in 80 countries, but the new option covers one country and one currency. Customers pay from a Crypto.com wallet, but Emirates never receives Bitcoin or Ethereum. Payments are converted to dirhams or dirham-backed stablecoins before settlement under a Central Bank of the UAE licence. Crypto.com's UAE arm is the only virtual asset service provider holding that licence, meaning no rival exchange can offer the same rail. The restriction excludes international tourists, whom Emirates and Dubai Finance had previously identified as the emirate's largest untapped pool for digital payments.
