SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE
A rare breed, the Engineer/Architect in the Global Services Engineering team, has a serious depth of technical knowledge and strong competencies across Cloud and Core technologies. We are looking for skills across technologies such as Enterprise Storage, Backup, Linux, VMware, SAN, NAS as well as the core Pure product such as FlashArray, FlashBlade and across a multitude of Data Protection products such as Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup.
You will utilize these skills to create world class professional services offerings. You must be capable of comprehending complex technical information, while also being able to communicate solutions to a wide range of audiences both internally and externally to customers. On completion of a new service, you may be expected to initially deliver it to a customer with a member of delivery shadowing. The Global Professional Services Engineering team works collaboratively with our support, product, delivery and engineering teams to facilitate and build solutions to our customers’ needs with our product portfolio. We also provide solutions and design services to provide the highest level of support and technical consultation to both Pure PS Delivery and sales team, to ensure that solutions created are easily and globally deployable. This may require working on delivery and implementation of these solutions with the Professional Services delivery Architects as well as training of the delivery team and customers.
The ideal candidates will have proven experience across a diverse technology portfolio. You will work predominantly on scoping, designing, engineering and the delivery of services which are engineered to resolve specific customer business problems and delivery of outcomes to these problems. To design and engineer these services, you will need significant experience of customer business requirements and in-depth technical skills across all cloud-native and traditional Infrastructures, to enable you to create targeted solutions to our customer base. You will be expected to learn, lead, teach, and everything in between.
You will possess a thorough understanding of IT architecture, designing solutions, storage (NAS/Block), operating systems, data migrations, data protection products such as Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup and implementation of these solutions. Additionally, you should be skilled in coding (Python/PowerShell/Perl/Scripting/Ansible) to enable automation of these processes where appropriate.
You will be responsible for creating the vision and moving that vision through the services design and implementation phases.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE
- Track record of designing and executing traditional storage and data protection strategies and solutions.
- Data Migration experience across a multitude of hardware and software products.
- Preparation and delivery of technical and architecture solutions
- Professional level certifications in Linux, VMware, SAN, NAS and Backup solutions
- Proven experience of scripting languages such as Python, Perl, PowerShell, and shell
- Strong knowledge of SMB, NFS, S3, Block Protocols
- Networking and SAN infrastructure (Nexus / ACI / Broadcom / Brocade).
- Security/Firewalls/Ransomware/Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity
- Multi-vendor server and storage platforms performance tuning experience
- Hyper-V and VMWare ESX
- Contribution on data migration and backup solutions for RFPs, RFQs and RFIs
- Superior knowledge of storage architectures and protocols (FC, iSCSI, NAS, S3)
- UNIX OS, NFS and SMB file systems experience
- Disaster Recovery, Replication, Backup (Veeam/Commvault/NetBackup/SRM/Zerto) and Migration technologies such as Cirrus/LVM/vMotion/Parsec/DataDobi/Komprise.
- Pure FlashArray / FlashBlade / Active Cluster / ActiveDR and other Pure product knowledge
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Very strong documentation skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Experience which demonstrates a significant level of expertise in technical specifications required to sell Pure products and services is required
- Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and understanding how to utilize them in a customer facing environment
- Ability to follow standard engineering principles and practices.
- Creative approach to problem solving

- Travel to the prospective global sites as necessary
The annual base salary range is: $108,000 - $162,000. Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
