Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or construction management.
  • Four to eight years of experience managing fixed-price construction projects, with emphasis on federal projects.
  • Experience managing project budgets of $10 million or more.
  • Ability to track costs, forecast accurately using Estimate to Complete, manage project profitability including NIBT and margins, and drive project underruns.
  • Demonstrated success managing federal construction projects and contributing to business development, including client relationship building and proposal generation.
  • Ability to lead diverse, geographically dispersed project teams on projects of moderate size, scope, and complexity.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and proficiency with Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6.
  • Ability to travel as required to support project sites and client engagement throughout the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Assemble and lead geographically dispersed project teams comprising internal staff and subcontractors.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and quality to meet Weston’s commitments and financial goals.
  • Provide safety leadership on managed projects.
  • Execute complex projects with timely and accurate communication, cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting within Weston’s business processes.
  • Manage project changes with the client and project team.
  • Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and proactively manage accounts receivable.
  • Ensure compliance with Weston purchasing, subcontracting, and quality requirements.
  • Participate in and lead business development activities, including client engagement, opportunity identification, capture strategy, and positioning Weston for sales.
  • Lead or significantly contribute to proposal development, including technical approach writing, estimating, costing, profitability planning, and subcontractor/vendor identification and scoping.
  • Cultivate strategic relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to foster repeat business and generate new leads.
  • Use project execution success to showcase Weston’s capabilities and build trust for future opportunities.
  • Represent Weston professionally to promote capabilities and build industry connections.
  • Build collaborative relationships with major stakeholders and establish clear expectations.
  • Identify project issues, develop options, and implement corrective actions.
  • React effectively and collaboratively to changing project conditions.
Desired Qualifications
  • Security clearance or ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
  • Prior experience as a Contractor Quality Control Site Manager and Site Safety and Health Officer for federal or Department of Defense projects, or equivalent experience.
  • Completed United States Army Corps of Engineers Construction Quality Control Manager Certification and 40-hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration training, or ability to complete them within three months.
  • Direct experience managing fixed-price and cost-reimbursable Department of Defense and/or United States Army Corps of Engineers construction projects.
  • Experience managing projects in the field with daily direct client interaction.
  • Proficiency with RMS, Procore, or other construction management software.
  • Professional Engineer, Project Management Professional, or Certified Construction Manager certification.
