Requirements
  • A college degree or technical certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Telecommunications, or a related discipline, or equivalent military or field experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in telecommunications network engineering, circuit integration, or infrastructure planning.
  • Deep technical command of BGP, TCP/IP, MPLS, and IPv6 for telecommunications infrastructure supporting TDM-to-IP conversion.
  • Hands-on experience with optical networking, fiber, telecommunications network infrastructure hardware, server-level deployments, testing, validation, and acceptance.
  • Ability to model network growth and optimize capacity during large-scale system upgrades.
  • Telecommunications infrastructure experience with ground networks and air-to-ground systems and technologies.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Ability to work on-site at FAA facilities and travel regionally to FAA sites.
  • U.S. citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the United States; alternatively, current green card holder status with the last three consecutive years as a U.S. resident.
  • Ability to meet government clearance eligibility requirements and pass employment, education, and reference verification.
Responsibilities
  • Support the integration, implementation, and testing of systems supporting the National Airspace System.
  • Provide technical direction to field teams and take ownership of assigned technical and project activities.
  • Manage technical activities throughout the network infrastructure lifecycle, from planning and site preparation through implementation and final deployment.
  • Direct the migration of legacy Time Division Multiplexing circuits to IP-based infrastructure, including circuit activation, cutover coordination, troubleshooting, and performance testing.
  • Perform hands-on configuration, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure, protocols, servers, and related hardware.
  • Resolve complex technical issues encountered during deployments across multiple sites and geographic areas.
  • Analyze operational and technical data to identify trends, emerging issues, dependencies, and potential performance risks.
  • Develop and recommend corrective actions to maintain successful implementation and operational performance.
  • Develop and deliver clear, actionable status reports and update technical documentation.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience leading the technical integration side of large infrastructure initiatives and applying project management methodologies to ensure delivery, compliance, and mission alignment.
  • Working knowledge of cloud networking across Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform to support hybrid National Airspace System environments.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent certification.
  • Familiarity with FAA BNATCS protocols or similar mission-critical government network standards.
