Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required in engineering, math, science, or a technical discipline
  • Minimum of 7 years of technical experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
Responsibilities
  • Lead risk analysis studies of design and processes to understand how potential quality issues may be contributing to product quality or patient safety risk.
  • Authoring risk assessments and technical reports to document analysis results or quality impact.
  • Review and approve changes to hardware/software designs and development processes and assess their impact in order to ensure reliability requirements are met.
  • Understand product performance, function(s), and product use environments to appropriately and strategically apply technical knowledge, reliability tools, and reliability methodologies to drive reliability improvements.
  • Perform systematic reliability analysis against features, requirements, architecture, interfaces, and designs, through the appropriate application of reliability engineering techniques (e.g. fault tree analysis, failure trending and analysis, reliability forecasting, etc.) to understand product and process robustness.
  • Conducts evaluation of finished product systems including requirements, design, development, documentation, integration, test, verification, and validation. Interpret and decompose system and product requirements, verify compliance.
  • Evaluates designs for potential failure modes, assesses potential hazards and harms, prioritizes safety risks, identifies appropriate risk controls, and compiles evidence to demonstrate benefits outweigh product risks.
Desired Qualifications
  • Proficiency with data analysis using reliability tools and statistical techniques
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Implantable medical device industry experience
  • Advanced degree in Engineering or suitable Clinical/Field Support, Safety or Reliability Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Design Engineering, or Product Development Engineering experience
  • Experience with 21 CFR Part 820 (Quality System Regulation), ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and Hazard Analysis and Risk Analysis techniques (e.g., FTA, DFMEA, Hazard Analysis Logs, Risk Management Report & Files)
  • International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) Certification
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work cooperatively and influence outcomes as part of a cross-functional team
  • Ability to manage project timelines to execute tasks and deliverables in a timely manner
