Requirements
  • You've built something that runs in production at a meaningful scale and you understand why it's fast (or why it isn't).
  • You've worked on inference pipelines where throughput, latency, and time-to-first-token (TTFT) were primary metrics and you moved them meaningfully.
  • You've built multi-step agent systems and you understand where they break in production rather than from theoretical papers.
  • You've written evaluation harnesses from scratch and you have opinions about what makes a ground truth dataset actually useful.
  • You've debugged non-determinism in large language models in production and built systems resilient to it.
  • You've worked with streaming large language model responses and built infrastructure around partial output handling.
  • You are familiar with or have experience in tuning and deploying models, including knowledge of streaming responses and partial outputs.
  • You have familiarity with or experience in using Go, Python, Temporal, Kafka, PostgreSQL, and Docker.
Responsibilities
  • Drive TTFT below 400 milliseconds for multi-step agent pipelines.
  • Implement streaming optimization to deliver the first token to the user while sub-agents are still running.
  • Develop and refine KV cache strategies, prompt compression, and dynamic context window management.
  • Implement multi-provider routing by latency, cost, and task type across OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, and open-weight models.
  • Design and implement Plan-Execute-Synthesize pipelines that run sub-agents in parallel directed acyclic graphs rather than sequential chains.
  • Build reliable orchestration on top of Temporal including retries, timeouts, partial failure recovery, and idempotency.
  • Enforce structured output through JSON schema validation and implement retry loops on malformed language model output with graceful degradation.
  • Design tool call schemas that language models can follow reliably across providers.
  • Own the evaluation and harness framework end to end including ground truth datasets, automated scoring pipelines, and regression detection on every pull request.
  • Implement LLM-as-judge pipelines for qualitative output assessment.
  • Track latency regressions (p50/p95/p99) across every deployment.
  • Design adversarial test cases including ambiguous queries, missing data, conflicting sources, and malformed tool responses.
  • Work on infrastructure for model serving and cold start optimization.
  • Develop an asynchronous worker architecture to enable parallel sub-agent execution.
  • Develop observability to trace every token, every tool call, and every synthesis step.
Desired Qualifications
  • Fine-tuning models but not having shipped inference systems.
  • Experience with LangChain or LlamaIndex but without building the underlying layer.
  • A strong machine learning research background without systems exposure.

Arcana provides specialized data analytics for the Web3 ecosystem. It offers proprietary datasets and advanced analysis tools to institutional investors, and operates on a subscription model that gives clients ongoing access to data and analytics for digital asset strategies and allocations. The product works by delivering high-quality, precise data and analytics through a subscription, helping clients make informed decisions and manage risk. Arcana differentiates itself through rigorous data integrity and accuracy, focusing on institutional customers such as hedge funds and large financial firms rather than consumer markets. The company's goal is to help clients mitigate risks and seize opportunities in the digital asset space by providing reliable, actionable insights that guide investment decisions.

What believers are saying

  • Avail says Nexus mainnet launched from Arcana integration in Q4 2025.
  • Arcana’s technology now powers unified balances and intent-driven execution across Ethereum, Base, and Arbitrum.
  • Most Arcana staff joined Avail, expanding execution capacity beyond 55 employees.

What critics are saying

  • Arcana no longer operates independently; Avail owns 100% of XAR supply since August 2025.
  • XAR holders face 4:1 token conversion, phased unlocks, and diluted upside.
  • If Nexus adoption stalls by Q4 2026, Arcana’s brand and roadmap vanish inside Avail.

What makes Arcana unique

  • August 2025: Arcana’s chain abstraction, wallet, auth, and MPC stack folded into Avail Nexus.
  • Arcana served 100-plus developer teams across 10-plus chains with 2.5M wallets.
  • Its absorbed team and proprietary stack strengthen Avail’s multichain execution layer.

Avail acquires Arcana; $75M funding raised

Avail, backed by Founders Fund, has acquired Arcana to enhance multichain scalability. Arcana's XAR token holders can swap for AVAIL at a 4:1 ratio, with phased unlocks. AVAIL is down 7% at $0.012, while XAR is up 3.6% at $0.0031. Arcana's tools will integrate into Avail's stack, and most of Arcana's team will join Avail, expanding the team to over 55. Arcana raised $5.5 million, while Avail has raised $75 million. The acquisition aims to unify multichain infrastructure for crypto adoption.
